A good way to be remembered as an accomplished engineer/scientist is being an engineer or scientist, they're not trying to be scientists or engineers and they've said this a lot, they're basically taking things that are already known and demonstrating it in a badass way. They don't want to be known as scientists or engineers, but they do hope they inspire more people to scientists and engineers.

Maybe saying "In doubt, use C4" was not the way to go to be remembered for being a good engineer/scientist

I would say the inventor of Rice Krispies, aka J. Robert Oppenheimer, is more famed for blowing stuff up as opposed to physics then Einstein is.

That would be the equivelant of asking a girl with a stuffed bra to show us her tits.

Well, depends on what happens after your suit is off - events could lead up to your head 'asploding'. ... It just doesn't happen by being out there.

Still max pepsi though.

He didn't use any safety tools when he was using the jointer I guess. idk if that matters though, I just remember needing to use handle things to push the wood through the jointer in my highschool woodshop class.
User avatar
#127 - thebaconstripman (11/25/2015) [-]
well, he did use safety goggles, but i just mean the hand tools specifically.

Not safe for wood
#69 - joshkroger (11/25/2015) [-]
For the most part his saftey is spot on, but you really shouldn't use a jointer for the long width portion of a board, but rather a planer. Yet he uses a planer for the short width of a board, when he should be using a jointer. Also his hands are directly above the blade, which is a no-no.

But honestly for a professional to do this, it is time efficient and he probably knows his tools well enough to do it without risk.

So no complaints here, just playing the devil's advocate
#109 - xerokill (11/25/2015) [-]
My boss did this with redwood 6x6 today, hand over the blade and everything, then told me to do it exactly the same? :o

Not Safe For Wood

Look at that poor wood, getting mutilated like that. What if some innocent Enting comes across this. There is no word in Entish for such horrific imagery.

(Well there IS a word in Entish for it, but it takes like 5 hours to say and even longer to type)

NSFW usually means porn, right?

NSFW means "not safe for work", whatever the meaning.

Because it's not safe for wood.

For making people to watch the whole thing, waiting something bad to happen, until they forgot the whole NSFW-part and just enjoy.
#47 - ciacheczko (11/25/2015) [-]
Oh. I was thinking it's one of those satisfying-to-watch kind of things, due to how smooth is all the cutting, hence NSFW. I guess that one works too.
