I absolutely understand what you're saying, man. Maybe they just think the younger generation is only getting dumber and dumber, and needs things as dulled-down as they can be. I know for sure I'm still getting these new games, and I'm sure hundreds of thousands of people who, right now say they hate it, will also be getting them.
Look, I hate the idea of the RotomDex so far. It's cool and all, but if there's one thing the Pokemon series doesn't need, it's a Navi. I don't want this thing telling me where to go, I don't want it talking to me at all, personally. Especially not if it's just telling me what I'm supposed to do next. That completely takes away the open-world exploration factor.
But that won't detract me from getting the games. I don't think anything will, honestly.
I get where you are coming from but dumbing down the game isn't going to make kids any smarter. When I was a kid I wanted to play Pokemon cards but couldn't read them I would ask what my mom what they said. She wouldn't just tell me what they said but instead taught me how to read them. If kids are to stupid to learn how to play a game thats already fairly simple they shouldn't be allowed to play it.
