I know im gonna get thumbs for the mention of COD but back when i was playing black ops we had this group that slowly developed online. one day we get this group and have one random person who wasnt that bad. then they spoke and it was a woman. almost all of us kept hitting on her and she finally gave us her info to find her on fb. she is pretty decent looking. a few of the guys gave her special attention but she could hold her own.
it was funny watching them think they had a chance

Thing is you could learn all those things in high school as well.
What taxes are and what they're for: It was explained contextually by my teacher in
US History (5 minute explanation, and even before that I knew what taxes were in middle school....simple concept)
How to register to vote: Again, US History, my teacher told us how to apply for a voter registration card and had us do it if we wanted extra credit
How to balance a checkbook: Okay, my mom taught me this when I received my first checkbook, but it took less than an hour
How to do loans for college: explained by my Executive Internship teacher (Yes that was a class in the program i was in) and the combination of FAFSA and the Federal student aid website when applying, again, very simple
How to jump start a car and other emergency things: C'mon man, that's not school's responsibility, that's what your dad should teach you, and again, jump starting a car is simple, just connect positive to positive, and negative to negative, a kindergartner can do it
Anything to do with banking: okay I'm not too familiar with that, But I did learn a fair share about how banks function in macroeconomics

User avatar #77 - commandershit (08/12/2013) [-]
Ironically , yes

in nearly all of europe , christian conservatives spout anti-islam and pro-national shit while doing the exact opposite once voted , and nobody cares - look at germany for once - conversative government , does all the things the liberals originally wanted

those are kinda essential though, don't you agree?
User avatar #115 - imcoolashell (08/12/2013) [-]
But they don't require a year to learn, and they're VERY simple.
All those aforementioned 'lessons' can be learned in literally less than a week.
Calculus on the other hand, takes extensive study
and anybody who says a subject like calculus is useless has never learned it or even knows what its about, so I hope nobody pulls that shit.

User avatar #173 - imcoolashell (08/12/2013) [-]
I don't believe in a 'faith in humanity' because humanity in its entirety will NEVER be purely good or bad. I accept that there are many shitty people, and I accept that there are good people, but there will never be entirely one or the other, hence nothing I see ruins my or 'restores' my "faith in humanity"

I get what you're saying, regardless of all the red thumbs. Yes, I understand the system, this is just an observation arse pirates.
"1" reads as "one", so why does "1st" read as "first"? If you read the number as a separate entity, you get:
1st: "onest", 2nd: "twond" 3rd: "threerd" and 4th:
..."fourth".
Honestly, this site just bombards anything it can't decipher immediately with red thumbs.
