I scarcely drive my 93 Jeep because I'm terrified now that It'll break down (he was a mechanic) and ill be screwed.
I love my fiancee but I'm terrified because he never taught me how to love or treat a woman right.
All I've ever wanted to do is be a dad, and now I'm terrified because I don't have my teacher or role model
I never thought anything would be this hard. But thank you for thoughts. Bout the nicest thing anyone has said to me about him in 6 months
Pic of us.

Dude. I got into an important situation where no one could help me but me. This situation involved my elderly father's power tools. He can barely use them anymore without gasping for air, but has been a contractor every day of his life after Vietnam. So I couldn't ask him for help, and went out there to use the saws. I kept acting like a freaking moron, and screwing up basic tasks on things that were just common sense, and at 20, I still don't know better. While using the table saw, a piece flew off and smashed into my arm and rendered it useless for about 24 hours.
Things hurt when you're scared, and you need to step up and do it anyway. I stood there literally pretending I was a Spartan, waiting for the incredible pain to pass. Then, you pick up your cut pieces, and keep going, knowing better what NOT to do. No one is going to hand feed you information, advise, or wisdom. These are things you dare to acquire on your own. What should scare you is being a 40 year old who has tried nothing, and accomplished nothing.
I met my lover and dared to make an 800 mile travel to marry them. No one could prepare us for what being a parent was like, it is something you have to learn on your own. Life is an adventure in itself, and if you sit there staring out the window wondering something, you'll never know the answer unless the answer is in yourself.

Mine passed when I was 10 and just hitting puberty, and I lived in a small town with few people to help. Fucked me up at first but I'm getting the hang of things. Also, advice from uncles or grand-dads or old men you know. Don't get to that age without seeing some shit, and probably know what your going through.

My dad was diagnosed with stage IV prostate cancer last year. My winter break from college is almost 2 months long. I want to spend as much time with him as I can during that time.
I need to make up for the times I ignored him.
