i only say this because at 8 i knew i wanted to play videogames for a living it was a shitty ass assumption i know . but i knew they give me happiness, and it would be cool to get paid for it too. at 13 i started getting into game development and started to learn how to use the unity game engine. at 15 i started getting serious and learned how to code JavaScript, HTML5, C++, and use blender for 3d modeling. i knew at that point it wouldn't be unrealistic to be an indie gamer for a living i knew that the pay would be shit, and i would live in a shitty ass apartment, but that was ok by me . i learned all of that optionally for free and threw the internet; so i started wondering, why the fuck am i going to school? i learned more in one summer than i did in 4 years oh high school.

personally I think the less government the better, but when I say that on the internet, neck beards must defend their government check and attack me.

in my opinion, if the federal government would stop assisting the lazy and stupid, we would have a lot less problems.

also in my opinion, people who don't want school will most likely fail, and everything they went threw is worth nothing. so maybe if they didn't go to school in the first place because they didn't want it, they wouldn't be wasting anybody's time and tax money.

I agree about the government thing to a point. They should stop assisting the lazy and stupid.

At my school the extra programs included free two years of collage to get your useless shit out of the way. You could only get that if you have the proper test scores and applied yourself. Either way the tax money is going to get put towards education.

You're also assuming 14-15 year olds will know what's best for them when in reality most of them are dumb shits in terms of what they actually need in the real world. We need mandatory higher education for at least the high school level.

You're also implying that we will have enough people willing to go out and learn how to do shit needed to run basic fucking things. There are only so many burger flippers and taxi drivers and a lot of them have a high school education.

I don't even know why I'm arguing over this at 12:20 at night

I could be overly butthurt about all of this because I had a good friend drop out of school because he thought he was the best and shit. He gained like a hundred pounds and is now insufferable to be around. His rich uncle paid for his collage which he dropped out of because 'It's boring.'

I'm all for the internet which is why home schooling is a thing but some basic fucking shit should be mandatory. I wouldn't mind a rework of what's taught but all in all 9+ should be mandatory. I know I probably don't need to learn imaginary numbers to work in most jobs but learning about your country, yourself, and all that is pretty damn nice.

come to think of it, it could also differ from place to place too because my high school offered specialty classes/offers. Things like duel enrollment into collages early to do what they wanted to and stuff like that.

also in my opinion, people who don't want school will most likely fail, and everything they went threw is worth nothing. so maybe if they didn't go to school in the first place because they didn't want it, they wouldn't be wasting anybody's time and tax money.
#40 - ilikecawk (10/08/2013) [-]

I don't even know why I'm arguing over this at 12:20 at night

i only say this because at 8 i knew i wanted to play videogames for a living it was a shitty ass assumption i know . but i knew they give me happiness, and it would be cool to get paid for it too. at 13 i started getting into game development and started to learn how to use the unity game engine. at 15 i started getting serious and learned how to code JavaScript, HTML5, C++, and use blender for 3d modeling. i knew at that point it wouldn't be unrealistic to be an indie gamer for a living i knew that the pay would be shit, and i would live in a shitty ass apartment, but that was ok by me . i learned all of that optionally for free and threw the internet; so i started wondering, why the fuck am i going to school? i learned more in one summer than i did in 4 years oh high school.

currently, if you care, im getting a team of friends together at school, im the art designer, and i help with some debugging.
you were arguing with me that late because you cant let me go, don't lie.

No, he's talking about the Oculus Rift. And he's trying to say the Oculus without that Omni (which is admittedly stupid IMHO) is useless and not worth it.

Commented on my profile too (didn't want to be able to be red-thumbed).

one last thing, can we not forget that the rift itself is just some screens on your face, for the full experience you need that 360 treadmill thing, like, in every oculus vid i see, there also using that, and only the real rich people will be able to afford both, or want both, and that treadmill thing looks.. unkind to the balls.

He wasn't talking about the kinect.

Yeah, I know where you're getting at and I understand you there. And from what it seems like, the cash payout on Overkill Watchdogs has also significantly decreased (had no yellow "+[insert value of cash]"), seeing as Watchdogs is focused on the XP. I think that the main reason is to prevent people from leveling up so fast and reach level 100 in like a week by grinding. If the payout had been like this from the start, they wouldn't have to go listen to all this bitching from the community.
Oh well, they'll probably change it back, because Overkill really does listen to the community.

Oh, I'm sorry. I thought you were complaining about how hard Overkill was like so many on the Payday and the Steam forums do.
My friends and I haven't gotten around to play too much after the update (we've only completed the new heist on Overkill), so I'm afraid I wouldn't know how the XP gain after an Overkill mission is at the time being. I thought it seemed like a standard payout in both XP and cash on the Diamond Store on Overkill.
User avatar #121 - ilikecawk (09/17/2013) [-]
It's fine, I don't really pay attention to how I word things when I'm bitching. Currently Watchdogs on overkill gives 60k as opposed to the 75-90 thousand it did before. Can't remember the exact amount but on payday it was around 100k XP payout, but now I'm lucky if it reaches 80. That doesn't seem like much but it adds up ya know? If they just added the police buff but kept the payout the same I wouldn't be so butthurt about it. Also require at least 2 bags of meth to be cooked because fuck Rat runners.

You should only do Overkill if you're really confident in your skills and want a real challenge. You don't do it to grind (me and my friends did that a lot), you do it to challenge yourself.
#111 - ilikecawk (09/17/2013) [-]
My friend and I can do almost every overkill mission by ourselves still. I'm not saying it should be easy I'm just saying the payout should reflect the difficulty. Sure, getting 1.4 million spending from us stealthing Framing Frame was silly but getting jack shit is much worse. I've never failed Rats on purpose or spammed Ukraine job because it's pointless and now I'm being punished for it.

Well, that's because the XP gain after each heist is only based on if you complete it. If you fail on the first day on Overkill, you get 420 XP, no matter how far you got into the heist, how many enemies you killed or how much loot you picked up.
All you have to do is get all the bags.
