what if you just have endless space to just continue foward?
User avatar #103 - ilcecchino (01/07/2015) [-]
we're not entirely sure there is empty space to just continue. our observable universe is about 93 Billion Lightyears in diameter.... and that's only the observable universe... but honestly. this is what my professor told me "dont go thinking about this stuff too much. you'll drive yourself insane" we literally just dont know. Based on math and physics. it's impossible. it would require too much energy. E=MC^2. mass increases as velocity does based on a ratio to the speed of light, And that's how much energy it would require to accelerate that mass another increment of speed... Going At the speed of light. Time would essentially stop. As does it when you get near a black hole on the event Horizon. But no body knows what that would be as an experiance if it were possible for a human to experiance something such as a complete time stop

User avatar #99 - wheretheheartroams (01/07/2015) [-]
i see, i picture what you're saying, i think my astronomy teacher explained this actually, but my curiosity still lies with the whole, what would happen if one did reach light speed or manage to go faster? i think Einstein explained it as just space just being torn apart at that point. but curious man curious
User avatar #100 - ilcecchino (01/07/2015) [-]
Nothing will tear apart space like that. Dark energy is tearing apart space... again. that's another topic.

Like i said. Once one reaches the speed of light, Distance becomes 0. meaning you're teleporting. There would be no time to accelerate or get faster than the speed of light. You'd literally hit the speed of light and you'd be dead. because before any time has even passed. you'd crash into the first object you'd come into contact with.

I don't think very many people are trying to argue that being fat is healthy. I would simply prefer that we focus more on positive encouragement of healthy behaviors rather than trying to shame others into changing. Remember, fatty and sugary foods are highly addicting. People have tried to shame drug addicts into quitting for years, but it doesn't generally work. What works better is allowing the individual to decide for themselves when to make a change, while encouraging positive behaviors.

well there was that carpenter who made his microwave work without closing the door
not only did it heat his sandwich but it cooked his intestines as he stood by waiting for his sandwich
User avatar #60 - ilcecchino (12/24/2014) [-]
Well. again. it's not cancer. its just the fact that Microwaves resonate with water and heats it up. essentially cooking things.. as per my comment #44

#43 - lolzordz (12/24/2014) [-]
why the door then?
User avatar #44 - ilcecchino (12/24/2014) [-]
Because it keeps the radiation in. meaning less time to cook your food and less wasted. and again. it wont give you radiation. but it can still fuck with your body because microwaves resonate with the same frequency with water. thus how it heats up food. if the door wasnt there. you wouldn't get cancer. but you'd get a warm sensation. my professor put his hand inside of a microwave. it was a very weird uncomfortable sensation of warm. but not cancer.

User avatar #28 - ilcecchino (12/24/2014) [-]
ok. let me rephrase that. you wont get cancer or radiation sickness. Microwaves resonate with water molecules in a way that an opera singers with glass. only the increase in vibrations cause the molecules to heat up. so yes. you can be burned. my bad
User avatar #24 - didactus (12/24/2014) [-]
Not to come of as an ass but I knew that already, but to add to your point.
The infrared photons which constitute these waves are a result of the de-excitation of the higher bracket series for n<2(main quantum number). Our visible light is from the de-excitation of n=2 (Balmer series). Frequency also decreases for photons with lower energy and wavelength increases accordingly (E=hf, E=hc/λ) Infrared in basic terms is actually just (thermal) energy transport through radiation via photons (waves are energy carriers)

yeah it is completely right to shout reloading and in Finnish army you are paired with another soldier, so closest soldier to you (your pair) will shout "covering!" so you can reload in peace and you know you've been heard.

While that seems like a valid conclusion on its own (and you could be 100% right in some cases), when this happens for a prolonged period with no "spark" it' is actually very comparable to completely different scenarios where people become attached to something after a period of time. We also don't know the specifics. I would wager that it was a culmination of things that finally led to them getting into a normal relationship, something additional to the sex happening.
