This is like asking if you should breathe. I will try to convince you.
All you need to do is watch the first episode, it will inject itself into your bloodstream like heroine and you will instantly be hopelessly addicted, with each series end you will feel the looming possibility of depression which will incapacitate you like a heavy withdrawal.
I honestly have never seen anything comparable to GoT, although Lost almost compares. They introduce you to these spectacular, ingenious, and charming characters, in addition to these characters that make you blind with rage. They make you love these characters with all your heart, and hate others even more, but the characters are only part of the story. Around each corner the exact opposite of what you would think happen, happens...and when you switch your mindset to accommodate for this deceivery, they somehow blow your mind...and something happens that you would never expect, each and every time. I love it because I'm always able to somewhat guess what will happen in movies and tv shows, but GoT is so incredibly genius that it keeps you on the edge of your seat feinding for the next big fix of excitement and spectacular scen..and when it is over life is on fast-forward until the next episode. Only a few games, movies, etc have gifted me the emotions that GoT did....Blatant blind rage, admiration, tremendous almost shit yourself excitement, heart-ripping grief, pure hate, and in a few beautiful and singular moments, no small degree of happiness.

Although it isn't as good at making hateful characters, I would HIGHLY recomend you pick up reading The wheel of time. It's honestly my favourite series of books ever released, numbering 14 books in total with three more spinoffs. The series has over 1 880 named characters, with a main cast of around 30-ish.
What truely makes the series excell, for me at least, is how deeply they go into the mechanics of it's system of magic. I can honestly say that I've NEVER seen a system of magic I can understand quite as well as the One Power. Then there's also the way characters develop. Take the main character Rand, for example. He starts as a timid boy, but eventualy develops into a very influencial character who can't give more two shits about what the nobility thinks about his actions. Seriously, they tried to send a young girl to spy on him, and he scares the ever loving crap out of him. On the offhand, he is also decending into madness, and there's constantly an internal struggle within him. If you're familiar with the band "Blind guardian", their song "Wheel of time" which I will be linking in this comment, perfectly describes Rand's inner struggle and the burden upon his shoulders.

My personal favourite character is Matt. He is the one character in the series who actualy call others out on wierd shit.

Thanks for your input, i usually just watch the walking dead when i'm bored but it's on a break so i need something new to watch and GoT seems interesting enough.
