Because it's not only a different age group from the original fans (the gap from F2 to F3 was 10 years) but it's also a different cultural group. It's less likely that veteran fans are the ones acting obnoxious about F4 (in case they haven't abandoned ship and played other games, like Wasteland 2) simply because of their age.

It's not about being a "true fan", but about which game you played first that usually defines what kind of fan you are. Veteran fans, in general, have a disappointed attitude towards F3. It was amazing, mind you, but lackluster compared to the complexity and dialogue of the first games. They're less likely to treat F4 as the second coming of Jesus and shit all over other games.

And there's also the strange peculiarity that new fans are loud as_ fuck_. You're proving my point by getting directly offended at an offhanded statement.

I randomly die from invisible cars, I strongly regret buying the wingsuit and there's no way to unequip it as far as i can tell and you can't change the keybinding for it so most of the time i fucking die when i don't even want to use it. The AI is fucking retarded, the goddamn dholes among other creatures just like slide forward 50 meters just to do that stupid fucking animation where they bite you or whatever. And that's just the singleplayer experience from me, the co-op is even worse.
