Kotaku or some **** site like that made an article about the skins calling them microtransactions and pay2win. A bunch of stupid people believed it and ran crying to the forums. A bunch more stupid people saw this and decided to bitch and moan without looking anything up. In the end, these comments are a small, toxic portion of the Payday 2 community and are so vastly in the minority that they should be ignored. They literally complained about First World Bank and Slaughterhouse, two free (and simply amazing) maps. They will bitch about anything, no matter what it is. The only reason this got more attention is because the gaming media is ******* retarded and decided to pick on Overkill this time.
Also, they weren't microtransactions. If your definition of a microtransaction is "A small transactions" then that could mean literally anything. MY definition of a microtransaction is inherently bad. It's paying to skip something in game. Paying real life money to skip infamy levels, paying real life money for in game money, paying real life money to buy masks that would normally drop from cards just to get it faster, these would all be microtransactions. As it stood at the time, the only way to get those skins was to pay money. It wasn't a microtransaction, it was a small DLC.
These ******* people bitched and moaned and cried and sent death threats (I literally saw more death threats, like what the **** ) so much that Overkill folded, and did what these asshats wanted. They made drill drop from cards. So now the drills drop from cards, yeah? But you can still buy them. That makes them an actual microtransaction now. The Payday 2 communityasked demanded the drills drop from cards, and now they do. And so many people are happy about it now. So many people did a full 180 on their opinions of the cards after this. What does that prove? What does that show? It shows that the people against this were only against it because it wasn't free. They will say **** like "Oh, Payday 2 lied about not having microtransactions! It's about them breaking a promise!" but now that they DO have real microtransactions, these same people shut the **** up because they can have skins for free. It was never about broken promises or microtransactions, that's just the ******** excuse they used. It was always about getting **** for free, when they already get MORE then they deserve for free. Then they complain about these free things. ******* 10/10.
I have 1100+ hours in the game, and I refuse to let these assholes tarnish it. Payday 2 is still an amazing game and I HIGHLY recommend it to anyone who's considering trying it out. Don't be discouraged by idiots who don't know what they;re talking about, and don't be worried about microtransactions in the future. This was a one time thing in response to a lot of idiots.

The weapon mods make more sense because now they have more variety aside from "Which one does the most damage". The shotguns... I'll agree they suck **** now. Then again, the weapon skins won't fix that. The weapon skins don't add **** . The most rare skin adds like +4 stability. Oh yeah, that makes all the difference. All the other skins add **** all. They are for show.
A LOT of the guns got buffed like crazy. Miniguns and Flamethrowers have ammo pick-up now. Pistols do a lot more damage, meaning they;re useful for once. SMGs either do more damage, or have a lot more ammo. Assault rifles have been re-done to either do more damage, or add more ammo. ONLY the automatic or semi-automatic shotguns got ****** .
Jesus I've never seen so much false information get thumbed up so quickly. Probably because padamalex just blocks anyone who disagrees with him.

I'd recommend hopping on again some time and checking out the new weapon stats. It's not nearly as doom and gloom as the community says it is. Pistols to a bit too much damage, but they're far from OP. The guns got resorted more than anything else, with additions or subtractions to accuracy, ammo, stability, and sometimes damage. It made more guns Death Wish worthy. As someone who had made it a goal to get over 1000 kills with EVERY weapon, I have taken them all to Death Wish at their stock settings. I can assure you that the only guns that didn't pass my Death Wish test in the last few days are the automatic shotguns (and the SPAS 12).

phantomi ONLINE (10/28/2015) [-] I know **** all about the fantasy warhammer i'm more a 40k guy (don't worry too much about it there's no real storyline just a city under attack and you guys doing missions to help) but imagine l4d but instead of zombies there are ratmen that spawn everywhere and i do mean everywhere because often when you are fighting a hoard another will charge up behind you and in this game you get surrounded, you die. the specials are harder to deal with that l4d too if only because your main attack is melee, you can start getting dragged away by a packmaster rat and your team is too busy fighting the basic rats to run over to kill it.
