| Stole this from wikipedia "In his book, Fast Future, author David Burstein describes Millennials' approach to social change as "pragmatic idealism," a deep desire to make the world a better place combined with an understanding that doing so requires building new institutions while working inside and outside existing institutions" but much of what you say is true as well. Thats is a very interesting approach, and at ots core I completely agree with the concept, it has been how civilizations have evolved throughout time. I just worry that their aims are too corruptable. I know oppression is a thing but unfortunatley you either "die the hero or love long enough to become the villian" I just hope I (meaning gen X) havnt become the villian yet. | I would say invest massive amounts of money into the global education system but thats most likely a no go. ( no short term payoff) I live in South Dakota and most of the schools down here are in danger of shutting down ( teachers dont want to stay longer then a semester plus the pay simply isnt worth it) I actually agree with you there, if there are any social constructs I support rducation and healthcare are deffinatley up there, while its true there is no short term pay off the pay off to the next generation would be amazing. I also feel a change in the education system with a bit more emphasis on practical skills and common knowledge, skills like balancig a check book and k owledge of basic laws and rights, these are things that are glossed over by schools so you can k ow the Pythagorean theorem or recite from the canteburry tales. I love knowledge and culture but we have cultured 18 year olds that don't understand how a traffic stop works or how their constitutional rights apply. | Compramise is always an acceptable solution, sadley the demands of a bathroom for all genders and forced recognition of precived pronous are unreasonable demands. Now laws stating you cannot be fired or denied healthcare based upon these factors are fine, but those should already be established. But mellinials also need to understand that when they are at work they have rented themselves to a company, as such there are expectations of on the job conduct and dress. On a college campus the 1st amendment applys, to all includ8ng them and their right to call themselves breadkin or what ever they want. They can do to their bodys and haor what they want but need to expect finding a job difficult. And most importantly these "sovering citizens" who reach back to the articles of confederation and the mayflower compact to put themselves outsode the law need to educate themselves on legal precedent and socital norms, they are not snowflakes they are people. If they want to be left alone then they should go live off grid. I would say invest massive amounts of money into the global education system but thats most likely a no go. | Im sure the next generation will grow up to hate this one too. Maybe thats just how people are? There is a natural rebel against the establishment felt by all late teen early 20s, but until this generation is has been people fighting for new ideas, now we have peo0le whinny and crying for "safe space" and "new ideas on identity" they are not pushing revolutionary ideas like equal rights and freedom instead the want to spread fear and intimidation. I don't blame the parents for this, I blame a lack of bullies and a turning against the natural order. Someone let the huggers (school counselors who say smiles and hugs solve the worlds problems) take charge, a whole generation bought i to the odea that the world doesn't have to be dangerous and that is what will destroy them. | I find that as an isuffecient argument for the scale of apathy shown by these people, i was raised by an alcoholic plumber who wasnt around and an over the road truck driver who was gone for 3-4 weeks at a time. Survival drives people to accomplish tasks, these people have successfully removed survival from their hands and given it to the government, not by law but by social custom, they have secluded themselves from anything dangerous and demand the world accomodate them. Id like to drop these littl snot eater in Iraq for a few months. Im sure the next generation will grow up to hate this one too. Maybe thats just how people are? She took it well. I had her go up and pay respects, she didn't say much but she got a tear in her eye. I had told her that it's okay to cry, many people were crying.
She told me that she wasn't crying, but instead tired. She understands fully what death is and she's doing completely fine now. I asked her if she knows what happens to him next, and she told me that he was going to be buried, so he can be in peace.
It could have gone better as a learning experience.. But it definitely could have gone worse.
