inquisition (11/05/2015) [-] Yea, a bit more direct relation to his fate in Metal Gear would have been better. Actual gameplay or cutscenes showing more of Outer Heaven would have been amazing. Kojima seems to love that kind of stuff, like the MGS flashbacks in MGS4. They kind of tried to make him a humbled version of MGS3 Ocelot I guess. More reserved and meticulous. I suppose the 20 years between the two games is supposed to be a time in which he's "matured". They referred back a little bit. Like where he shows the recruit how to fire his gun, "pretty good" etc. I wish they'd finish MGSV first, but oh well. I'm not sure where the storyline is going to go from here seeing as they've exhausted the Solid Snake storyline and the Big Boss prequel storyline pretty much. So unless it's a spinoff, maybe involving Solidus and Raiden in Liberia, or Ocelot's life post-MGSV pre-MGS, then I don't know what they'd do it on. I also honestly wish they'd gone through with more Kiefer dialogue instead of making Venom a self-insert for the player. Venom would have been much better with that character development. | ||

inquisition (10/04/2015) [-] Gameplay is really good imo, AI and such are great and there's a lot of possibilities for creativity. The "Truth" ending came out of nowhere, in the midst of unrelated missions and mission replays. Mission 51 definitely should have been the ending because, quite simply the story is unfinished (with regards to Liquid). And that Sins of the Father scene was awkward as fuck. I don't know who thought it was a good idea to have 0 dialogue for 5 minutes whilst a song played. #4459 -

inquisition (10/04/2015) [-] I can't believe they released it with that, I mean: >watch Liquid steal English strain >watch Liquid run away with niglets and a fucking METAL GEAR >Liquid has none of these things in MGS Past mission 31 the game feels lackluster as fuck too. There may be a few good, original missions past that point, namely the second outbreak and maybe a Quiet Exit (that mission pisses me off though, but that's because I'm bad at dealing with sniper tanks) and that jungle stealth mission. I get that they were over budget and Kojima was taking a long time but they really should have done something about it. The mission replays at higher difficulty were a stupid addition too, imo. inquisition (11/03/2015) [-] I've been obsessing over MGSV for a while now, and I was just thinking. What if the end level's cutscene was the confrontation between Solid and Venom in Metal Gear? That just strikes me as a more satisfying ending and reveal, as opposed to the line in the end credits saying "Solid kills Big Boss's phantom".
Also an Ocelot spinoff set between MGSV and MGS would be cool. One that ends with Ocelot killing Miller.
Too bad Konami probably won't do anything with MGS apart from Pachinko and Kojima won't be working on it.

iamnewhere (11/05/2015) [-] Definitely.
The fanbase as a whole was hoping/expecting the game to end with at least a radio transmission from Solid at the start of "Operation Intrude N313". I'd prefer that, because if they showed Solid and Venom together, it would imply a MG1 remake in the Fox Engine. Which i would Love, obviously, you know me, but i don't want it without Kojima It would be perfect, it would do what the games ultimate goal was: tying the saga together.
We sort of got something like that. The tape Venom puts on in the ending has Operation Intrude N313 written on the back, and after all that static, the MSX computer which is the platform MG1 was released on, nice touch in the back lights green. It's decent, but at all close to the alternatives.
Ocelot game would be awesome, if they got his character right. He was way off in V. I don't know which Metal Gears you've played, but his personality in MGS3 was perfect as a young version of MGS Ocelot. He is nothing like that in V.
A new Metal Gear game is already in the works, apparently confirmed without doubt by Konami, though i haven't fact checked. Here's to hoping it'll be a complete spinoff, and that it uses the Fox Engine. That engine is too damn good, and too damn promising to die with just 2 games on it.

I have, and i am god damn pissed about it.
There's no closure to Eli's storyline without it, and Sahelanthropus just sitting there with a bunch of kids while Venom does ******** about it? Not to mention the English parasite strain..
People actually thought Kojima getting the boot would have zero impact on the game, just because his contract hasn't run out yet... Even worse, people STILL think it had zero impact on it, and its Kojimas fault. That's what pisses me off the most i think. It seems they've just forgotten the quality and polish of the previous games, and forgot all the **** moves Konami has done lately..

But if i were you, and i had the money, i'd upgrade the PC right away. You'd thank yourself later on.

iamnewhere (07/29/2015) [-] Yeah, i'm not a fan of the voiced protagonist. Even worse is the simplified dialogue options. 4 options is not enough, and the options doesn't even say exactly what the character will say. There will be so many times i'll pick for example: [Disagree] and the protag will tear the other character a new whole verbally, unless they do a REALLY good job with the shortened answers.
And yeah, it might be a Jack of all trades, master of none game with all these features.

Yea the dialogue **** too, looks exactly the same as Mass Effect. I like the long answers and voiceless protagonist in 3 and NV.

It's spooky as hell. Good survival horror and less action based than Dead Space or RE, but slightly more action based than games like Amnesia. One nice thing is the Alien aesthetic they keep from the films. ie the computers are all 80s hardware.
Also what is that gif from. I'm guessing some kind of Steam indie horror game but idk which.

It's from DreadOut iirc. Never played it, but i've watched a few streams. It's pretty spooky, the Japanese are pretty good at that.
I wish i played it instead of watching it. It's pretty cheap on Steam.
I don't really play horror games. The most recent one i've played is Outlast.
I wish i had the chance to play PT, and Silent Hills would've been ******* amazing if PT was any indication.

That does look spooky as **** . I might actually get that on sale. Games like that are always typical bait for letplayers with facecams though, which is annoying as hell when they jump on the bandwagon.
I'm kind of into them. It needs to be the right time of day to get the right effect when you play them though, late evening time is good, with headphones. Otherwise it loses its magic.
Silent Hills looked great and it pissed me off when they cancelled it. Norman Reedus would've been great and I may have finally bought a PS4 to play it.

Yeah, playing in total darkness with good headphones can make games that normally are only a little scary spooky as **** . I have a 7.1 surround headset, so i had a blast with Outlast.
And yeah, i was ******* pissed. **** Konami with a rake.
And the way they've been treating Kojima is ******* ridiculous. You can probably guess how ******* pissed i am at that.
But at least we got confirmation from Guillmero Del Toro that he and Kojima are still in touch, and working on a project. That has me very excited.

Yea Konami definitely don't deserve his expertise, they're a ****** company that will fail without people like him.
Do you have any idea what they might be up to? If Del Toro is involved it sounds like it could be spooky.

They're going to focus on mobile gaming apparently, and there's way more money in that than i'd ever guess. They won't go bankrupt, but they'll definitely be a husk of its former self.
I wish i had any idea. But like you said, the inclusion of Del Taco and the fact that they worked on a horror game that got everyone hyped as **** almost has to mean they're working on something horror related.

Companies that focus on mobile gaming (as in, microtransactions and other such ******** ) are sellouts. Even Bethesda did it with their iOS game. EA shamelessly do it and it just makes their names so much tackier.
Looking forward to that then, hopefully it'll be as good as Silent Hills promised to be.

Yeah **** mobile. Especially if content is put behind a paywall, or if you can pay to do things that otherwise takes time to do again, and if you don't pay the time you have to wait is bloated as hell.
Yeah me too. With PT they really messed with the player, and in Del Toro's interview he mentioned Psycho Mantis from MGS1, who was one of the first in gaming to mess with players. (He read your memory card and said "hmmm, i see you like Castlevania" and **** like that if you didn't know.) So it's likely they'll go down the same path

Yeah, Konami ****** up real bad when cancelling it. They'll hand it over to an inexperienced company to save some bucks and it will be yet another trash entry in the series, instead of a return to form. Fans will never let them live that down.
But anyway, i gtg. See you later, *****

From what I've heard most gamebreaking **** happens during DLC, I've never had any troubles (apart from getting stuck in the Jefferson Memorial and being unable to get out, meaning I had to reload an early af save) but I think you'll be fine.

Make sure you do, it's slightly more polished than Fallout 3 in a number of ways, but feels less post-apocalyptic. Still one of my favourite games tho. I got 1 and 2 for free through some deal, but I can't be asked with that gameplay interface. It looks like AIDS.
GoT's great, only major spoiler I saw and remembered when watching it was Joffrey's death , other than that no.
imo best storyline is the Night's Watch and worst is the Daenerys one (got boring once she got the unsullied then started ruling slaves instead of crossing the sea to Westeros).

Last Tyrion/Tywin interaction was good though. You could kind of see the foreshadowing too (Tyrion stops getting his own way when Jaime won't go back to Casterly, Cersei won't marry Loras and Tyrion refuses to die). It was great because Tywin was such a ******* Jew who wouldn't stop getting his own way with everything. Funny death too.

I liked the scene, but it kinda rubbed me the wrong way too. I mean, he was the most powerful man in Westeros, and the death was a little too anticlimactic, too short. Which ofc is the irony of it, it was definitely intentional, but it just didn't feel like a big deal to me. Which is sad because Tywin was one of my favorite characters, i loved to hate him. Charles Dance is an awesome actor.
But i gtg now, smell ya later.
