but that thing showcased neither parts from pearl or garnet. it was just completely different than the two of them...

Well the hair is sorta similar, as is the gem placement. They also had the spear and fist to make the hammer. Remember that the physical form is whatever they feel like looking like, so they wanted to look like that, I guess.

Also, think of it this way, Sardonyx has Pearl's arrogance with Garnet's insane amount of actual competence and power backing it up. It's like Pearl and Amethyst said, having Garnet's strength be part of you feels amazing. So amazing you can't help shouting it from the mountain tops, or in Pearl's case showing it off in a very precise and performance-like manner.

i still hold on to my original statement that the drastic change in personality was odd.but i give you that that is good argument.

Think about how Garnet is much more of a cool, collected person than Ruby or Sapphire. Sapphire's reserved, but not so much stoic as Garnet.

Sugilite on the other hand, literally revels in destruction, and thinks her strength, power, and size give her license to do whatever she wants, even though Amethyst and Garnet don't really think like that.

As Garnet said, a fusion isn't just a combination of two individuals, but an experience.

Pearl is a show-off know-it-all. Garnet is brash and extremely confident in her abilities.

Combine the two and you get MEGA-CONFIDENCE.

Also, the fusions may combine traits from the two separate gems, but they also form a completely new persona with its own sense of identity.

so far every fusion shown has shared characteristics from the sum of their parts. only exeption being this.

pearl,while being a know it all. is as i have said several times. refined and graceful, and garnet,while being confident on her abilities, never flaunts them,brags or otherwise loud mouth.

You're right, Garnet doesn't usually brag and isn't a loud-mouth, but she is supremely confident in her abilities and super strength. The bragging part comes from Pearl, who takes every opportunity to show off how graceful and smart she is.

Well after Steven asks if she's gonna smash stuff with her warhammer, the more appropriate words she lists specific, intelligent, accurate, faultless, elegant, controlled, surgical, graceful seem to describe pearl quite well, at least I thought so. but yeah she doesn't act like either of them.

Garnet is more of cool and calm, silence comes with being cool. Pearl is more Refined, but not soft spoken. She's kinda nuts too. I can see how sardonyx would be like that.

any episode with pearl talking about sword fighting so thats like 3 right there. theres giant woman, stevens ring tone song in full disclosure, amethyst singing about how she feels left out, both times, greg has like 3 or 4 songs in three of 4 different episodes. the episode about the band, there is a cookie cat song at one point but its only 1 verse so i dont know if that should count, there is garnets song in the season finale, there is a singing montage thing when they are having a survivor weekend on an abandoned island. those are the ones i can think of off the top of my head. plus rose has at least one song in the flashback episodes.

but yeah...thats like...rounded up 10 songs for 60 episodes.wouldnt call it that bad. but yeah..the singing is sorta out of place...specially considering its not a disney musical.
