The whole "Kawaii desu xD xD" is how it starts as an anime watcher, mane.
I actually visited a website called "Otakuzone" when I started getting into anime, but gradually shifted to a less cancerous stance.

Actually, from the way I see it, the /mlp/ bronies are probably the better part of the fanbase in most cases.

What you need to watch out for are the deviantart ones, and the facebook ones. They're autistic.

Basically, if you violate the Geneva Convention, everybody goes out after your war criminal bitch ass.
User avatar #110 - Crusader (03/02/2014) [-]
In war, rules do get broken.

But there are certain Geneva Conventions that simply do not get broken by major countries because they know that those laws are sacred tenets that everyone sees as holy. To break them is to make yourself the bad guy.

Like you don't use chemical weapons, everyone that has them realizes how evil and destructive they are, they aren't a clean death like most weapons, they are a slow painful death that doesn't give anything.

You don't destroy religious buildings/icons or kill religious figures. If there is one way to rile a community up, it's to kill a man who has dedicated his life to being good, or destroy hallowed ground.

You don't kill innocents, same as above, all it does is paint you as the bad guy and creates and "enemy of my enemy" scenario.
#152 - wesergold (03/02/2014) [-]
none of your so called "rules" you listed above have been followed in any war that ever exsisted
User avatar #342 - Crusader (03/02/2014) [-]
They have only been around for the past hundred years or so. And they have.

Back in the Great War they used Mustard Gas, killed innocents, clergymen and destroyed churches.

It was after that, that the Geneva Convention was created. Hence why in WW2 there was no chemical attacks by anyone that followed it, no destruction of churches, etc.
#350 - wesergold (03/03/2014) [-]
in ww 2 no chemical weapons were used and that's it, churches were destroyed and millionsof innocent killed (by all forces involved in the war).

not to be that guy but i honestly blame video games for a portion of it. they glamorize war without showing the guy whos two best friends blw up while he was crippled by the blast or the wife and son at home who just lost a dad. all they show is shooty shooty lets scooty bullshit but nothing else. probably doesnt help either that the media barley covers war anymore so no one really realizes what kind of hell it is. pic very much related

I would just like to have more games and movies without a happy ending. Kind of like how Mass Effect would be if you couldn't stop the reapers (I found the third game captured the grief of war very well).

I don't know why anyone would call you crazy. most people agree with you. Hell, my mom was watching her show and it got cut in with news on CBS about Russia mobilizing into Ukraine and she said if we ever for any reason go to war with Russia, we're just leaving the country.

Despite the fact that nukes are the primary heft of most superpowers, the chances of them actually being used is slim to none in reality. Even the dumbest general in the world knows that NOBODY wins a nuclear war. If a military power decides to use ICBM's, it will be the most selfish decision in the history of the world, because they are literally saying they would rather have the world be consumed by radioactive fire than surrender to the enemy. That's why the Cold War was just a loooong and drawn out dick-measuring contest, because both sides knew that a nuclear war would mean no victory for either side. At best, they just got the last word. Not worth a world apocalypse.
User avatar #164 - figosound (03/02/2014) [-]
Nukes had taken away the political use of the war: wars had been waged over for territories and resources, so if you nuke your enemy you will not win, you only destroy him beyond any chance of reconstruction. And because many others have the A-bomb you will likely follow your enemy destiny.
And don't forget the fact that a nuclear war, even limited to a nation, will have consequences on a world scale, on all life. Not. Fucking. Worth. It.
User avatar #149 - biscuitsunited (03/02/2014) [-]
Worst case scenario everybody goes underground and fallout happens
User avatar #96 - Crusader (03/02/2014) [-]
If there is a war, I doubt nukes will be used.

Nukes are against Geneva Conventions and it is seen as such an evil weapon that whoever uses it, suddenly becomes a villain.

Even the USA says "Yeah, we did all the good we could in the Second World War, and then we had to use the Nuke"
It's like when you're in a fair fist fight, just want it to be over, grab a brick and brain someone.
