I'd rather lean a little than getting my hands and maybe the floor wet.

All it does is spray the water a little up for you to lean over less and quickly swish. its not going to shoot to the ceiling.

In theory, if the universe is infinitely expanding, then there are an infinite number of planets harboring life forms, many of them sentient.(In fact, an infinite amount of them.)
User avatar #164 - candytaker (06/10/2013) [-]
You're making grand assumptions that haven't been proven yet. I completely believe that there's life out there, but it's just not right to say that there's an infinite amount of planets. Actually, let me rephrase that: it MAY be right, but there's no conclusive proof that it is. Nonetheless, I believe that there's intelligent life out there. I don't believe we'll find out for sure in our lifetimes, unfortunately.
#221 - anonymous (06/10/2013) [-]
By direct observation, we know that space is expanding at an accelerating rate, and current models tell us that it's likely indefinite. These models, derived from Big Bang theory, would restrict the universe to a finite size. Thus, there can only be a finite amount of mass-energy, hence finite number of planets, in the universe (according to most accepted models of cosmology today)

Still, the number of potential planets out there given all these billions of galaxies is fucking enormous. Just in the observable universe, there are AT LEAST one hundred billion galaxies. Let's low-ball it and say only 1% of them contain a potentially habitable plane (despite the billions of stars in every one). We're left with 10^9 potential biospheres. Let's say only 0.1% of them actually have life. By these assumptions, there are still a million planets out there that harbor life. This is a very strict quota -- there just has to be life out there. We just need to observe it.

I know this may cause red thumps, but i think human life is worth much more. I see this get to the frontpage and yet so many other post with people mocking massacres of humans. Bah, fuck this, i'm drunk and havin' an opinion and it's a dog
User avatar #632 - newmrnormal (06/03/2013) [-]
I honestly could not give two fucks about a human that dies, as long as it is not someone I personally know. Think about movies. When a dog or other animal dies everyone cries and gets sad, but when a human dies noone really cares.
#610 - sectual (06/03/2013) [-]
True, but it's just sad because the dog is helpless about it.
