nature can literally do whatever the hell it wants

if it wants to spawn a super virus that wipes our said hyper intelligent species, it can do that (and in our case is well on its way)

unless we found a way to completely blow up the earth, life is going to go on

human life will move on, it will get better but indefinitely

But nature doesn't have a mind. It's simply reactions to our actions that happened. Nature evolves around us we have to remember that. There may be things going on around us that we have never even imagined before.

if nature didnt intend this nature will stop it

i think it was natures intent to make us this successful, this much closer to perfection

nature will force us to evolve socially, psychologically, and whatever else

and you are ignoring the fact that people still die because of diseases. to put it in perspective there are strains of simple diseases (influenza and the like) that kill hundreds and thousands of people because our bodies cant handle them because we made them too strong. in short there is still natural selection

and once again we are selfish because that was nature's intention, to proctor survival of the fittest. Also we cant destroy the planet because in "destroying the planet" we would destroy ourselves and nature would restore balance
User avatar #161 - iLime (05/24/2013) [-]
By destroying the planet i meant that destroy what we know as earth. Nature would take it's course and rebuild itself over a long period of time. But when there is a highly intelligent species then nature can only do so much. Unless there's something more to nature. Perhaps this is another being's doing. We will not know until we reach that chapter in human history.

i think natural selection will just keep taking place on a different level

people are still dying of disease and cancer

and you are preaching to the choir, society is evolving as a whole, and evolution takes thousands of years

human life will get better and better, but we will have to accept what we have right now
User avatar #158 - iLime (05/24/2013) [-]
Ah but you see it's not working as it was in nature. If human life keeps following the path it's currently on we will be the end of ourselves. We are destroying this planet and overusing it's resources for our selfish benefits. Sometimes i feel like human's already existed. They existed and traveled a similar path that our people did but along the line they caused their own extinction. I think that evolution end's with some sort of form similar to human's. A self sufficient species that can keep going for a really long time because we are the highest form of inteligence.

no we cant because we are all still too self absorbed

the evolution still has to take place before we can defeat our primal senses
User avatar #156 - iLime (05/24/2013) [-]
Natural selection barely taking place anymore within our species. Almost everyone survives due to modern technologies and medicines. What we need to do is put more funding schools and education and hire teachers that love their jobs and want to educate and see the world become a better place due to their work. Some teachers nowadays don't give two shits and just throw us a worksheet and tell us to do it. We need to develop the human race because we are now in control of where it goes. Evan though we are just civilians with barely any power we can make huge differences.

its only human nature to be selfish because it made us more able to survive

we need to have some psychosocial evolution first
User avatar #154 - iLime (05/24/2013) [-]
With our intelligence we should be able to get past that. Instead of spending money killing each other we could just spend money on innovative technologies.

there has always been a huge debate over this subject:

does competition or cooperation breed innovation?
User avatar #66 - sorrowofdaedalus (05/23/2013) [-]
Shut up. People are competitive, and others are mean. They have a right to be mean, and you shouldn't try to suppress them from that right just because they are dicks. You know why? Because black, white, red, green, or asshole, everyone agrees that you should have the freedom to feel what you'd like towards others, including malice.
User avatar #101 - admiralamory (05/23/2013) [-]
"You have the RIGHT to be an asshole!"

Fuck man, never heard anyone be that stupid before. You completely proved his point. You started the conflict, and because of people like you, we're not on the moon. Or anywhere for that matter.

Yes, because it's not like Religion was just used as a front to explain wars over conquest of territory or resources or power or anything. Yeah, that COULDN'T be it.
