I own a gun and its never killed anybody, infant it was not made for killing people. Browning Citori look it up kiddo. Your argument is based apon the fact that you believe all guns are made to kill and or all guns kill people there are about 11k gun murders a year in the USA and 300 million citizens and about 270 million guns. there seems to be a huge fucking gap between the 11k murders and 270 million guns...

You are utterly ignorant. People of all age groups are significantly more likely to die from unintentional firearm injuries when they live in states with more guns, relative to states with fewer guns. On average, states with the highest gun levels had nine times the rate of unintentional firearms deaths compared to states with the lowest gun levels. A federal government study of unintentional shootings found that 8% of such shooting deaths resulted from shots fired by children under the age of six.

Statistics doesn't lie. May karma get you, and may you never inflict harm to anybody with your ignorance.

From a design perspective, a guns function is to kill, maim or damage an object via speeding a bullet up to high velocity. Apply whatever philosophical bullshit that makes this feel nicer to yourself but it's basic function is to cause damage. When a gun is used incorrectly via it's design point, nothing is damaged.

A cars primary design function is for transportation - something which it does very well. When it is used incorrectly, damage is caused. See the difference?

Whats more, I would wager that the number of car accidents : number of car uses daily is a much lower number than injuries form guns : gun uses.

I have no idea what I'm talking about, of course, but just tossing thoughts around here..
I am against car ownership for purposes other than transportation, since it inevitably causes more crashes. People would like to think of themselves as more responsible than others, but once you have that steering wheel in your hands, that life-threatening power at some point goes right to your head if you are on the verge of going for a drive. Only educated and authorized people should be able to use cars when necessary.
If you are one of those people who say that you need to own a car because you need to drive yourself to other places aside from work, then you really need to listen to what you're saying. You are contributing to a frightened and ignorant system that keeps repeating itself because car crashes breed car crashes.
User avatar #190 - hundrings (05/29/2013) [-]
This comparison doesn't help your cause in any way, since a car isn't solely owned to hurt other beings, while guns are exclusively meant for that purpose.
Car crashes kill people, we all know that, but the intention of a vehicle isn't so that you can run people over with them.

You're simply projecting your own fears and self doubt onto the rest of the population.
#167 - anonexplains (05/29/2013) [-]
That goes both ways when the most popular argument for allowing guns is for 'personal protection.'

Carrying a gun is simply a psycological thing that makes you feel safe. As studies have shown this isn't actually true so in reality your fear of being helpless is putting yourself and others at risk. Good job.

I notice your profile says you are from Norway. "for" in this case is just a preposition used after the verb "to solve" for a specific variable. I'm not sure if you didn't learn it that, but that is how we do it in the states.

Solve for the value of x.
Solve the problem.
or
Find the value of x.
We don't "solve the value of x."

everyone is racist at some point, because its hard to get to know everyone, so we judge generally based on what we experienced, its easier. i never got the chance to be friends with a jew, a bedouin, or a black person.
User avatar #12 to #11 - hundrings (09/03/2011) [-]
I see what you mean. But generally, even if I'm sceptical towards a certain race or religious group, I try to keep an open mind and not expect the worst from people.

But I can honestly say that some races scare or intimidate me, such as some religious muslims or people from cartain countries in Africa. mostly because they have other morals and values in their culture, which I might not approve of as my own.
User avatar #13 to #12 - ragenFOX (09/03/2011) [-]
i try, but youknow, there arent much races where i live...+ racism is funny.
you dont have to approve, but you can respect them and let them be. respecting an opinion doesn't mean applying it on your self. i dont fear other religions or groups, because i am a muslim, people should fear me :P hahaha.
User avatar #14 to #13 - hundrings (09/03/2011) [-]
haha, true that :p
User avatar #15 to #14 - ragenFOX (09/03/2011) [-]
i try to understand everyone, by learning about cultures and religions, not everyone is bad as they seem to be...except al qaeda and consumerism.
User avatar #16 to #15 - hundrings (09/03/2011) [-]
yeah, I try too, but there are extremists from every group messing things up for everybody else who actually are normal well functioning people.
User avatar #17 to #16 - ragenFOX (09/03/2011) [-]
naaaa, extremist arnt that big of a deal, you can always pass those people.
User avatar #18 to #17 - hundrings (09/03/2011) [-]
maybe..
User avatar #19 to #18 - ragenFOX (09/03/2011) [-]
hmm, thats why i prefer naming more groups. i dont call alqaeda extremists, they are a totally different thing.
User avatar #20 to #19 - hundrings (09/03/2011) [-]
yeah, you might be right. They seem to believe in something completely different than regular muslims..
User avatar #21 to #20 - ragenFOX (09/03/2011) [-]
no the belief is the same, but the way is different. for them, an unbeliever is an enemy, no matter what. also, they are obsessed with revenge, but always the wrong person suffers. ****** up logic.
