You would have to, yea. Except that one day God was like, "You know what? I'm gonna throw these guys a bone." And so Jesus came to Earth and did His whole Jesus thing, and now you don't have to go to hell. I mean you can if you want, but why would anyone want that? I assume you'd rather go to heaven, in which case all you have to do is imagine Jesus offering you a free ticket into heaven, and be like "Thanks Jesus. I know I'm a sinner and I'd otherwise be going to hell, but you saved me from that, so I love you." And boom, you're saved.

It actually goes back to even before the tower. We inherit the sin of Adam and Eve. Although I agree it doesn't seem fair. Then again, even without inheriting original sin, everyone sins on a daily basis, so it's impossible to live a sin-free life anyway.
