O god no haha, I mostly did underdome with friends and such, only dueled strangers occasionally and I won those. You knowledge is unparalleled, so Ill ask you this. I'm currently leveling the shit out of the turret tier, any other skills that might be worth the investment?

In BL, it depends. I'm not sure which tree you are talking about but I think you mean the Infantry tree. If you like to use your action skill more, go for the increased turret damage (Sentry). If you like to use your own firepower over your turret's, go for the increased bullet damage (Impact). Next, I would go for Metal Storm. If you like the Underdome, Metal Storm will be a godsend for you with the increased fire rate and recoil reduction. Because most Heavy Gunner class mods come with +2 or +3 to Metal Storm, you may only need to put 2 or 3 points in to max it out. The extra points can then be used for Sentry or Impact (whichever one you DIDN'T put points in). Next, I would put points into Refire. I thought for sure this would not stack with the Deploy skill but it does. Refire gives you an extra 5 seconds off of your Action Skill cooldown (Maxed) when you shoot an enemy with the exception that it can only come into effect once every 2 seconds. When you add this to the 100% cooldown reduction from Deploy, you can have turrets out in as little as 14 seconds from each other. I would then proceed to put 5 points into Guided Missle. The rocket is homing and extremely accurate, so maxing this skill for only 4 seconds between rockets is a must. I skipped two skill slots: Scattershot and Assault. You should only put points into one of these if they are the only weapon you KNOW you'll use. You said you like shotguns, but you also said you like assault rifles. Unless you plan on using one or the other, Impact would be the better choice as it increases ALL bullet damage. If you were talking about the Support Tree, this is all you have to do. Forget the left side abilities. Shields go down too fast and can be bypassed. Unless you love grenades more than life, Grenadier is useless. Go for 5 in Stockpile (Unless you have 2-3 from Heavy Gunner Mod), 5 in Barrage, 5 in Deploy, and ONLY 1 point in Supply Drop. with 5 in Stockpile, you still end up getting unlimited ammo.

Oh 6-7. That's believeable. I was thinking you had the lvl 4 dueling achieve and were saying you NEVER lost. Sorry I misjudged you. Yea, many people who duel basically will lose to you as a soldier, but the hardcore hunter and beserker duelists who live to PvP will usually win. It's usually Soldier over siren, hunter/beserker over soldier, beserker and hunters are equal (whoever utilizes range to their advantage will win), siren over beserker. Hunters are probably tippy top tier because of their shield bypass, but can be dethroned by a better hunter or a beserker that can successfully get him into melee range. Thanks for the compliment on my BL knowledge.

I have the ultimate edition yea. I'd have to take a look at what I used, but it went right through them. I also didn't rely on shields, I just buffed my health out to obscene levels, so that's probably why I didn't notice the shield bypass. I zigzaged to avoid being hit and when they were close I'd just go in for a shot gun kill. This is all duel style, when it came to arena based matches I had a bit more of a struggle. Close range it was no contest.

Even with the 25% from spec and the 60% from a muscleman shield, and with the 5% heal per sec spec, brick would still 4 shot you or less with explosive on his action skill if you got close. Unless you had the +5%hp/sec heal that comes from killing an enemy in the medic tree on TOP of the +5%/sec from the turret, I don't see this being true at all. Also, there's no such thing as a Panacea Muscleman mix so you either choose between hp regen and max hp on the shields. As for shotguns, after level 45 their dmg is highly reduced and mashers take over, so I now am severly doubting your claims.

S&S were some of my favorite, the gun I'm referring to here was actually and S&S that I never had to reload in combat. If it didn't die by the time I was empty, then there was a problem.

I just want to say I LOVE axton's turret and I utilize everything you said, I especially love that the turret has some balls to it. That said...with the class mods and shields I had before I never lost a duel ever at lvl 60 as Roland. With the turret I just stood there mowing them down with a machine gun, and unless they could killed me in 1 shot, I healed faster than they could shoot.
User avatar #80 - holycookies (10/28/2013) [-]
Do you have the DLC? Hunter with the Sniper class mod could increase sniper critical by 80%. Put a Jakobs Skullsmasher on top of that with the Hunter's shield Bypass ability and you were 1 shotted even with a modded shield. While machine guns have enormous capacity with the heavy gunner mods, their dmg isn't very high and most people with a decent Pestilent Defiler will take out your turret in 3 shots or less.
