I could explain it but there's so many spoilers, I could continue if you want?

i've played the game to the end.

Very well. The Boss was given the task of infiltrating Volgin's group and recover the philosopher's legacy. One of the ways she was to get on Volgin's good side was to offer him the Davy Crockett Missile, however no one knew that he would use it to nuke Russian soil and cause an international shit storm. Eventually she was blacklisted by her own government and marked for death as a way to make amends between the US and Russia. She was to be dispatched by her protege aka Naked Snake. She was well aware of her role and did everything she could to make Snake as skilled as possible in order to complete his goal and save the country she loved and sacrificed so much for, which was also the same country that wanted her dead. She used her Cobra Unit as tests since they were all people who were considered the best of the best and people she cared for. Eventually she succeeded in training Snake into the greatest soldier ever and awarded him with a fight to the death, even though she knew what was at stake she did not relent and fought her hardest to make sure he completed his objective. She also played a role in assisting Snake indirectly. She knew what would happen to her yet she didn't back down from her objective.

Huh?
#56 - youxbarstard (04/03/2015) [-]
I also tried to explain why The b0ss Boss did what she did further down this chain.
User avatar #57 - thathorse (04/03/2015) [-]
Yeah I saw it. You tried giving a play by play I went with the generalization of her mission and duties
#58 - youxbarstard (04/03/2015) [-]
Eh I just like how the mgs story is deep enough that it can be explained in so many ways. though ffs I really hope there so many cut scenes in TPP as there was in GOTP and I hope with Kojima gone that Konami don't fuck it up.
User avatar #60 - thathorse (04/03/2015) [-]
The thing is that this is just a bit of the Boss's story her story is much deeper and complex than this I liked the cutscenes I'd have a snack ready for them since it felt like a movie. Well Kojima was there for the whole process, but he's not the frontrunner anymore though
#61 - youxbarstard (04/03/2015) [-]
As cheesy as it may sound I wish Konami would have done a spin off game for The b0ss Boss in her ww2 days, I get the feeling that that shit would have sooo cash.
User avatar #63 - thathorse (04/03/2015) [-]
Well Kojima said he wanted to do a game about the Boss and her cobra unit
#64 - youxbarstard (04/03/2015) [-]
Why must you tease my Boss boner like this?
User avatar #66 - thathorse (04/03/2015) [-]
I shit you not. I was excited about that as well but now that Kojima is gone I don't know what will happen with that plan
#67 - youxbarstard (04/03/2015) [-]
If the Konami top guys flake on that I will find them and take their ear lobes as trophies this game NEEDS to happen, it's too not awesome not to happen.
User avatar #70 - thathorse (04/03/2015) [-]
Well the thing is if they're just gonna butcher it then I think it'd be better if it never gets made
#71 - youxbarstard (04/03/2015) [-]

and nobody knwe volgin would cause a shitstorm? what were they thinking. why not give davy crocket to the kremlin if they wanted to be dumb?
#49 - thathorse (04/03/2015) [-]
Well the thing was, he used it like 5 minutes after he got it. It was a gesture to help her get into his ranks, eventually she was going to take it back and dispose of Volgin as soon as she had the Philosopher's Legacy. Since Volgin didn't use it as a "Look what I have give into my demands I'll use it" type of thing her objective changed and her mission was extended.
User avatar #51 - holdup (04/03/2015) [-]
damn, so he used shagohod to get the crockett from the usa than used crockett on russia? i get it.
User avatar #59 - thathorse (04/03/2015) [-]
No The Boss was given the mission to act as a defector and take the Davey Crockett missiles as a trading point into to get into Volgins ranks.
User avatar #62 - holdup (04/03/2015) [-]
tea, but he held the public hostage for the device, I am assuming we wanted to do a certain amount of damage, but not too much, in witch case they could have exonerated boss but whatever.
User avatar #65 - thathorse (04/03/2015) [-]
No they wanted the Boss dead. She was too charismatic and they feared that. So when all this happened they took the opportunity and offered her as a sacrifice to keep the peace
User avatar #68 - holdup (04/03/2015) [-]

Eva explains it in that part.
User avatar #42 - holdup (04/03/2015) [-]
when she steals the plans so china can build nukes? yes, it did not explain shit.
#48 - youxbarstard (04/03/2015) [-]
She also talked about why the boss did what she did.
The B0ss Boss' original mission was to infiltrate Volgin's organization to steal the philosophers legacy and her cover to make that mission possible was for her to defect, in the mean time Snake was sent to "save" Sokolov while this WAS a real mission it's main purpose was to further distract Volgin's attention from the possibility of The Boss's introduction from being suspicious
Another way to seal The Boss's intro was for her to bring a gift that being the Davy Crockett (heh Crockett/rocket) which The Boss's higher ups thought Volgin would simply use for non-lethal testing purposes, obviously they were wrong.
Now the Russian president calls the American president and demands an explanation, the American president gives the usual "we're not involved one of ours fled to you and yours it's her fault" then the Russian president says he wants proof so the American president suggests removing The Boss and the Russian president agrees.
Cue the operation "Snake eater" it's objectives being kill The Boss and retrieve the philosophers legacy, with Snake only being informed of the first one.

I should have probably explained that all of this was explained throughout multiple cinematics my bad
#44 - fefe (04/03/2015) [-]
The game was a cacophony of stupid bullshit. She was no hero to anyone who has an idea of what loyalty is. She was a patsy, a knowing patsy, of a system that wanted her out of the way as a sacrifice. She let herself die instead of taking said people out when she was perfectly capable of it.

Also, she never told her protege the truth and gave him a god damned lifelong mental trauma because of her own selfishness that resulted in a FUCKTON of people dying all so she could have her moment. Nah man, she was no hero.
User avatar #83 - mgsexplain (04/03/2015) [-]
She was a hero, she was a woman who was betrayed by her nation that she followed until the end. She was in a sense a hero, however, because she followed her duties until death to prevent the world from being fucked up.

She put up a fight, yes, but in the end she knew her student would kill her, and she was alright with this because she knew it was for the good of the world.

(Oh, and Hillary will be an absolutely awful leader. She is firmly in the pockets of the donors, even deeper than Obama is, and she is an utter warhawk because of it. She wants to send young men and women off to die in a foreign land because it makes money for the military contractors that pay for her campaigns.

There are only two rays of hope in Washington at the moment. 1) Elizabeth Warren, someone who actually seems to be operating on some kind of moral compass. 2) Wolf-Pac's ever hastening call for a convention and an amendment to stop the hideously corrupting power of money in politics.

Warren doesn't look like she's gonna run and Wolf-Pac don't look like they're gonna get the change they want before the next election. They're getting it already, it'll just take more time.

The US already dropped upwards of 5,000 bombs on ISIS. The furore about Obama not combatting ISIS is just another Republican lie made to lessen support for Obama (they need to lie because all of the things that really make me dislike Obama are things the Republicans are either in favour of or already doing worse themselves so they don't wanna draw attention to that).

ISIS can be beaten easily by just crushing their hopes under several megatons of cumulative explosive bombardment. No need to drop the boots on the ground, especially when the situation in Yemen is 100 times worse than the situation in Syria and Iraq atm. Saudi Arabia has actually started moving towards war with the rebels in Yemen. Saudi Arabia is a pretty laid-back country when it comes to the constantly unfolding chaos around it. It just builds walls and profits massively from their oil industry. When they actually get in gear with the people threatening their borders it means the situation is -WAY out of hand.

No doubt. They're trying. Was looking from for a moment, but it's starting to slack back off. Lot of defectors after those strikes. I'm not saying we won't need our boots on the ground, but I'd like to avoid it as long as possible. Stick to the air and let the other countries there fight for their people.
