titletaker (01/17/2013) [-] To answer your question: The armor is just doing its job, and bastard swords would TOTALLY take off whole limbs if it wasn't there. But to go deeper: Originally, all swords started out as stronger spears. "Stab 'em till they die." The straight-edged swords were made to be sharp, but you had to be careful not to make them too sharp. If you made them too sharp, they would get stuck in a motherfucker. So, straight edges were sharp enough to cut, and hack off limbs, but not sharp enough to, say, shave with. Actually, you could probably test if a sword was too sharp by trying to shave with it. I'll have to look into that. | ||
