The way people deal with situations like genocide shouldn't be put under a microscope. People kill for their family's survival. Maybe the time lords destroy all of time for their rise and escape of genocide.

I doubt it. They didn't know about the doctor's plan to commit genocide until they were already in the time lock. After that point, there wasn't anything they could do about it (until The Master/Saxon).

And if the daleks were planning on it, then the time lords simply could have travelled back in time and stopped the daleks from doing anything (which is what almost the entire time war consisted of).

As far as I can see, they simply couldn't break the stalemate between the two most advanced races in creation, both of which had time under their complete control, and decided to destroy creation itself to end it. I really don't see any other explanation.

But his race lives in conciousness, just to win, he does that. Sounds like desperation.

They only live because they are in a time lock. It was desperate certainly, he had to contain the entire war to save the universe. But the doctor wasn't insane for doing it. He was trying to save everything. That is, himself and everything that could ever possibly be.

The time lords were beyond desperate (and i think insane) because they didn't give a shit anymore. They were going to try to destroy the universe, time, etc. because they couldn't simply win in the war. They decided to take out everything in some deluded belief that they would persist as "creatures of pure consciousness." Yet, there would be no universe for them to persist in.

The doctor committing genocide against his own race was desperate. Destroying the entire universe (perhaps multiverse)? I'd say that goes a little further.

The Timelords didn't go insane. They went non merciful. If you re-watch The End of Time, the Doctor says that the Time War made them horrible, millions of years of only war. Not insanity.

I'd still argue it's the same thing. They were planning on ending time to win the war, and they resented the doctor for saving time and creation itself.

That not all Daleks are pure, only the ones Davros thought up. There is no evidence of Davros going insane, only Dalek Caan.

Half-right. It is true that not all daleks are pure, but the ones from the time war are. The supreme daleks also are (if memory serves, it was they who locked up the doctor in the pandorica). Certainly there are impure daleks (for example the season 1 finale).

I believe that everyone who took part in the time war went insane, with the possible exception of the doctor. The reason I believe that is the same reason that the doctor murderer his own entire race, They were planning on ending time. Ending creation itself essentially, and they were reputed as the wisest, smartest, and greatest race in existance. If they went insane from the war, then I think it stand to reason that the daleks, who are by no means wise or great like the time lords, would also have gone insane due to the war.

In S5 E3, they exterminated the Daleks who helped them because they were impure. Even the activation system for the Supreme Daleks wouldn't let them because they were impure.
