...First world war? No, probably not. Britain maintained a huge empire and an industry to match, and had the ability to defend its shores with impunity thanks to its navy (which also blockaded Germany to great effect in the war, as well as the second one). Germany arguably was in a better position at the start of the war, but just like in the second one, they didn't have the long-term production to keep up with it (not least thanks to the blockades I mentioned).
Second world war? Yes, definitely (considering the whole blitzkrieg thing and how France lost in such a short order). But it wasn't 1 v 1, and by the time Hitler could attack Britain..he couldn't.

Germany during the war was always hit a lot harder than Britain ever was, due to requiring a lot more materials (for example agricultural) to be imported than Britain, and due to the relative ease with which the British navy could actually operate around the world. Check en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blockade_of_Germany out.
Sure, U-boats were a problem, but they were nullified after the introduction of the convoy system (which completely removed them as a threat).

Actually I'm relatively uninterested in stuff after 1648 as a rule, just 'cause then it gets too similar to the modern day for my tastes. Still know about it (you have to) but I don't really read up on it for entertainment purposes.
However, I have listened to his Genghis Khan and Germanic stuff. It was okay for a decent overview, had a lot less myths/bullshit that you'd normally get (although it did still definitely have some). Definitely someone I'd recommend to people getting into historical stuff- way better than any of the shit you get on the "history" channel. Or those history-butchering Extra Credits bastards.

It's just personal taste- I've never found stuff after that general time period interesting.
