Real eyes are connected to the socket via nerve connections and muscles that are attached to the eye itself. No need to worry about eyes popping out of your head :)

Actually, if you put on goggles that only cover your eyes and swim down to about 5m underwater your eyes will pop out of your head.

I'm fairly certain you would need more than 5m to rip that amount of flesh out of your eye socket but I might be mistaken. Besides, who dives that deep without a face mask?

Because there is so little air in the goggles it gets to really high pressure really quickly, hence why nobody dives that deep without diving goggles.

I get the concept, but I was and am under the impression that one would need to dive deeper to straight-up have their eyes popping out of their sockets.

Your eyes really aren't held in that tight. The only thing really holding them in is the muscles around them.

And the bundle of nerves leading back into the skull.

Have you ever seen an eye pop out? The nerves are connected but the eyeball just dangles on the persons cheek. It's interesting but I can't really explain why they don't just disconnect from the eye.

The first picture has a slight adjustment to the brightness on instagram because the camera wouldn't pick up the depth. If anything the photo on the right looks less like the real colour.
