He is right you know.
Mother is bB and father is bB
BB = brown
bB = brown
Bb = brown
bb = blue
so around 25% chance of blue eyes.
However if parents were: BB and bB. then it would almost always be brown unless BB had a distinct relative with a hidden b gene.

That IS accounting for dominant genes. Let's say both parents have Bb (B is brown gene, b is blue). They, for our simplified statement, would both have brown eyes, yet they both carry genes for blue. If they mated, their offspring would have one of the four following outcomes
Bb|bb - Ergo, 75% of this would have Brown eyes (though 50% would carry a recessive blue), and 25% (bb) would have blue. Now, let's go with the other scenario. Brown eyed blue-gene carrier (Bb) and blue-eyed (bb) parents. The outcomes are:
bb|bb - In this scenario, it's a 50/50 split. If the brown-eyed parent didn't have a recessive blue (BB), however, it would turn out like this:
Bb|Bb - approximately 100% chance of brown eyes, unless there was a fluke mutation. Again, this is very simplified, not counting for other genes involved in the colors in the eye-color spectrum, but fairly dead-on nonetheless. You need to relearn your biology, SON.
