Watched 5 episodes with Matt and gave up then and there. Hated the fucker. When I heard there's a new doctor, I binged through his run and got the gist of it.
This doctor seems okay and with potential, but the scripts themselves and the stories are pretty bad... however, looking back, that's a common theme with doctor Who. I just didn't care because of david (ecclestone was okay but the series didn't have any solid direction until shortly before he left).
Capaldi has that potential but at the time of writing this the scripts are too bad to ignore and his performance not good enough to help the problem.

My doctor is David. He both put me off watching doctor Who and convinced me to become a fanboy.
If I saw Matt's performance first, I'd probably like him much more, or not touch the series at all. I agree that Smith is exactly what I thought of when hearing of doctor Who. Thing is, David just stepped up the game... instead of a boy in his dad's clothes like Matt, Tennant gave the character some maturity and depth. Matt tried, sure, but I couldn't for the life of me believe him to be sincere...
Basically, what I'm trying to say is that Matt seemed like a step down. If he were the first or second, I wouldn't mind. Or possibly wouldn't have watched at all as it's not really my cup of tea... but I forgave it because the 10th doctor was so damn interesting, which made me care about the stories he was put in.

more like incredibly mediocre... thus far it's a steady line with no pulse. Except the last episode. Fuck that episode. Fuck that episode so hard its shitting its own bones. I don't think I got that angry over a show in a while... girlfriend either. We were yelling and fighting over who hated the episode more...
Yes, it has been rather disappointing thus far... they're building up to something with clips here and there. We're waiting to see if it will culminate into something worth it. If not, the show is dead to us. She would have quit then and there if I didn't remind her they's a separate story being build up. If that episode fails to live up to the hype it's creating, or pulls the same shit this latest episode did, it will by far the worst season of anything I've ever watched, and I've watched season two of Heroes and lived through Dexter's finale...

but like...I mean, I can't judge him based on a few clips from a commercial...but Peter just seemed really...plain.
There wasn't this feeling of enthusiasm that I got from Matt or David when they talked.
atleast that is how it felt, but you have actually seen a couple episodes so I don't know what you think.
