What made you realize that in the first place, anyway?

Can't really say.
I'd speculate that it was due to me spending more time in the LGBT community on Tumblr and finding out more about gender identities and the like. Still don't have it all figured out yet but it feels good to not be in my old box anymore.

Sometime earlier this year. I've been seeing a therapist recently to work things out though. I won't say that I have my entire identity figured out, but it's getting there.

I'm pretty gender-fluid at this point. I like identifying as a girl for most other situations not related to performing on some kind of stage. If it weren't for this deep voice of mine I would totally be okay with identifying as a woman 100% of the time.
