There's no reason for that tattoo. You hide it because you know it's not accepted in a modern society. That's good, you know a tattoo isn't civilized. You're ashamed of it and you should be.

Not talking about you in particular, just anyone with a tattoo.

Tattoos have held their place in many civilized cultures, my tattoo holds a place in my heart that led me to believe it deserved a place on my skin. You may think i hide it because i'm ashamed of it but in realistic terms i hide it because only those who would understand it get the chance to see it.

You, the people, allow your government to get away these sorts of things, and Im not saying that each individual committed an act of terrorism, but by not forcing your government to change, you are not completely guilt free, I also making comment on your media.

the individual U.S. citizen has very little control over the actions of their government. about all that can be done is to gather like minded people and start a group to campaign the government to change, unless you're talking such things as civil disobedience or rioting in which case it makes little sense to trade military action for local terrorism. in addition one of the flaws in a democratic government, even a representative democracy like the US, is that change comes painfully slow it's the main reason that the concept of the president was created to govern military affairs. however these days it seems that the average citizen thinks of the president as more of a dictator or sovereign leader so they'll use the president as a political scape goat.
#222 - kirbizzle (04/16/2013) [-]
Of course on an individual level you have no real control, but you need to group together to make a movement, and civil disobedience and rioting is very rarely successful as you are then portrayed as being violent and disillusion. And then you need to get media coverage to help spread, best possible time for large scale campaign for change is when there is an election coming up so that you may have a political party recognise your message and then have them use it to help them get into power, if you do not have a political party behind you already.
The point is that the government should be scared of the people, the people have the power, most just dont realise that.

there are groups like that, each of them trying to pull politicians in their own direction so much so that unless you're either a major funder of a politicians reelection campaign or big enough to majorly sway the vote then the group is just ignored.
User avatar #217 - haulasshick (04/16/2013) [-]
The problem is that the older generation believes that its the younger generation's problem to deal with, while the younger generation for the most part doesn't have the attention span, knowledge or worldliness to actually have a chance to change our government. The only people we can vote for are figure heads for whichever corporations can afford to pay off for personal gain. Every country has its problems America's are just more prominent because for some dumb reason the majority of our country believes we need to stick our nose into everyone else's business. I don't make any excuses for America's actions as a country i'm just defending the innocent people who were harmed today who happen to be Americans.
