Well like in piano or guitar you can very easily strum or hit multiple notes very quickly with just your hands.

In the Jedi world the force is like using an infinite number of hands and taking out the only thing that slows us down, which is the distance.
If you have 2 hands you could easily pick up 2 pieces of glass instantly if you were right there right?
So if you had 100 hands you could do the same couldn't you?

And it WOULD make more sense to throw it as a block of air considering thats A LOT less mental work.
