how do you know it's hot? You weren't there and also there's no steam
#31 - thepink (01/09/2016) [-]
White chocolate has a lower melting and working temperature than dark chocolate, since it's pretty much composed entirely of cocoa butter. For example, depending on the brand, liquid white chocolate has a final temper of 82 ish degrees, while the ideal working temperature for dark chocolate is around 88 degrees. What we can deduce from the difference in working temp is that the temperature at which these chocolates begin to melt is also different, with white chocolate being the weakest.

Now I would assume that this is a dark chocolate sauce being utilized in the presentation (the color would suggest so but the viscosity is a tad too thin to be just a pot of melted chocolate). However, if this is a class-A kind of joint we're dealing with, it would be safe to assume that the sauce is still using real chocolate, so for the sauce to remain stable it would have to be no hotter than 88 degrees and no colder than around... let's call it 86 F. While the sauce isn't necessarily "hot" (the absence of steam is proper since the liquid in question would have to be well under the boiling point of water), it's plenty warm enough to melt the thin layer of white chocolate on contact.

yeah, because of the ********* who dumped millions of gallons into a desert for no damn reason, we're in a superficial "drought", so it's fine-able to excessively water plants, meaning that the common color for plants is brown, for dead. and trees, their falling and cracking because their drying up. not enough water to keep them together. so trees, and forests, are getting more and more dead. but Alpine, they got cedars for days. but hey, at least we have the gayest town in California...

most the creeks here come from a spring you can just drink it straight out the creek unless theres something dead in the water upstream but that doesnt happen often

well, i guess a squirrel or deer got too close to the water, fell in panicked and drowned. also, do you have deer? i heard their pretty big assholes.
User avatar #216 to #215 - sonicsyndicate (09/07/2015) [-]
we have plenty of deer but theres been less and less dead ones on the side of the road recently and we havnt had one eating in our garden in months

weird, you might be having a panic attack whenever you sit in it, because it reminds you of something powerful or a bad memory that you can't remember, but instinctively fear. idk, it happens whenever i see 1802 mustangs. only that make and model. but pictures don't bother me, it's only when i SEE them.

but i feel ya, i'm the only one who knows about fixing cars, aside form my father. so, i get the cars too. but not usually when people die. it's for small things, like brakes and if i can find it, i want to show you a pic of my sisters brakes. it was super etched.

this was my brakes at one point haha buddy was like wahts that vibrating when you brake? you got a warped disc? i said hell no i dont have hardly any disc
User avatar #190 to #189 - hahdumbbirch (09/07/2015) [-]
yeah, nah, but my sisters brakes they were awful. i know i have a pic, probably in some SD card i know it, but they were solid disk brakes, and the calipers were over extending and gnarling into the rotor, until there was only like, 1 mm left in thickness between where it was wearing and where the back was. it was ****** gnarly man.

haha bet she never stopped and wonder why her brakes felt like ****
User avatar #192 to #191 - hahdumbbirch (09/07/2015) [-]
nah, but it was only her back passenger side brake, everything else was wearing evenly. buuut she had to buy an entirely new set of 4 rotors, and pads. it was a sight to behold...

haha my back brakes on my f-100 look like a mix of more slurry of brake dust and brake fluid than actual brakes i cracked the wheel cylinder somehow good thing i had one in my shop that fit but i still need to replace the shoes and springs theyre still slurry and dont actually work but the fronts will lock your ass to the pavement if you push hard enough

mean while, i bought a rather nice wrench, looked chromed and polished, the whole deal, tried to take off a fan bolt with a cheater bar, **** cracked right off. looked at the metal, it was a really cheap metal, like pot metal or mild steel. it was like the consistency of bubble gum that's been sitting out for years, or old fries. either way, it was not worth the $20. i actually broke it and returned it the same day i got it. yes, i bought a tool and it broke the very same day. so i just used my craftsmans, nothing wrong the rest of the way.

then you just remove the body of the van, with nothing but the frame, engine, suspension, and brakes. then weld it to the frame. using brass makes big chunks, good for clogging air intakes for cars/trucks

ah, but unless the dicks tires are worn heavily, it won' be doin much but putting some extra metal into the tires. clogging the air intakes, if it's diesel, can **** up turbose, because those razer sharp bits of metal just fly through filters, and scratch and scrape the **** out of fins, and then get into the carb, clogging them and effectively shutting down the entire car for good, or if you're so inclined as to replace the engine. i had a similar case of this, but instead of someone lathing on the freeway/road, they left their car on at a job site near someone cutting way at steel with a chip blade and a fan blowing near by. the ones that don't grind, but actually remove curls of material. ****** it up hardcore.

couple friend of mine think im a rally driver because when they were ridin with me on a one lane dirt road with banks and sharp ditches on either side and we were straight flying we came up on oncoming traffic and i managed to dodge that car over the crest of a hill doing 80 with only 4 foot on either side of my truck scared the **** out of them too
User avatar #130 to #128 - hahdumbbirch (09/07/2015) [-]
ah, i was on this merge, it was a 3 lane to a 2 lane with a freeway on ramp, and it goes under a bridge. right, well, this person comes darting up behind me, like easily 10 mph above the speed limit, and tries to scrape my bumper as he tries merging form the far right lane to the right lane into the 2 by, as part of an insurance claim, i bet. but iv'e already seen people do that, and i knew to stop, because if he actually hit me, then i would have had to pay him for "my recklessness" basically this dude tried to cause an accident, and i was like, nah, i'm good. and then stopped before he could clip me.
User avatar #131 to #130 - sonicsyndicate (09/07/2015) [-]
i say if they want insurance money from me they better be deathproof cause im not about to take ******** like that ill run your ass off the road and bury you with the car
User avatar #132 to #131 - hahdumbbirch (09/07/2015) [-]
yeah, well, i have a full 4 camera recording system, from back right, back left, front right, front left, so in case of an accident, i can accurately display evidence of whoever caused it. whether it be me, or them. so in essential, i have a blackbox truck.

where the **** are you? the rich part of russia?
User avatar #134 to #133 - hahdumbbirch (09/07/2015) [-]
San Diego, california. kinda have to, what with all the wreckless drivers. i can also record speeders or people illegally turning. and their not too much, their not much bigger than the camera of a cell phone, and about an hours drive is about 1 gb.

well anyways i have a f100 now
User avatar #137 to #135 - hahdumbbirch (09/07/2015) [-]
oh lord, the paint looks sad. i'd strip down the paint and repaint it in an instant. yes, i'm a paint whore, and i recognize this.
User avatar #139 to #137 - sonicsyndicate (09/07/2015) [-]
well i promised myself i wouldnt paint her till i finished her internals because once you paint your project you try to do everything perfect and end up with a 7k check being sent to a company for parts haha
User avatar #140 to #139 - hahdumbbirch (09/07/2015) [-]
yeeeah, well, how i do it, is i strip the panels off, might be impossible if it's a unibody, which i doubt it is, and then pain them separately. so i can work on it without having to mask stuff. but, with a stormcloud gray paint job, it's hard to tell what's painted and what's just grey. also, my trucks model is from 2001, straight form the factory.
User avatar #141 to #140 - sonicsyndicate (09/07/2015) [-]
well that used to be blue just btw haha the engine bay looks the way it does because my cousin tried his hand at painting in my engine bay with aluminum silver paint thats why the engines paint is ****** up i had to get the spraypaint off with purple power and it killed some of the enamel paint also im currently painting the valve covers black with red tops on the fins and i plan to paint the rest of the engine black or blue i cant decide what would go best with the black and red valve covers
User avatar #142 to #141 - hahdumbbirch (09/07/2015) [-]
ah, well, here's something fun i do, whenever i replace anything on my car, i paint it a different color than stock. like my turbo is blue, my water pump is a deep green, my valve covers are lime green, my alternator is pink, condenser is yellow, etc etc. each part different paint. my engine looks like a damn rainbow.
User avatar #143 to #142 - sonicsyndicate (09/07/2015) [-]
haha do what the civic fags do and paint it all obnoxious green with latex like spraypaint and have it fall off in bits then talk **** about duplicolor

ah, nah, i was looking at a set of those. but the reason i bought the chinese crap was because i was too lazy to find my good ones at the time. but i usually use either pittsburg or craftsman for handtools, Ingersoll rand for pneumatic, Milwaukee for cordless. the air for power and east to reach fasteners, cordless for tighter spots, and hand for places you just can't get to with the drivers.
User avatar #100 to #99 - sonicsyndicate (09/07/2015) [-]
im not as big on milwaukee as i used to be not since i bought a milwaukee sawsall and drill from them only to have them bought crap out 3 days later
User avatar #101 to #100 - hahdumbbirch (09/07/2015) [-]
yeah, i still have my same tools from like, 5-6 year ago. their still working like the day they were bought. i don't trust the brushless, because my philosophy is more power more better. and brushless can't really compete with the instant power of brushed. but, yes, brushless require less maintenance. but what they don't tell you is there is a computer, and that just means there are more points of failure. i think after this milwaukee finally keels over and fails to operate, i'll swap to an Ingersoll rand impact cordless. af of right now, it's still working. only had to replace a planetary set and 3 sets of brushes. back when they still used solid gear steel, and not those powder metal gears.

it looks like a tap holder, but for bolts. whoever thought of this needs to win some sort of metal.
User avatar #104 to #103 - sonicsyndicate (09/07/2015) [-]
medal* btw i thought the screw would break when i overused it but i actually did some reading and the screw is harder than the case and the case is crome vanadium so thats one hard ass screw hasnt even got scratched yet and it popped off exhaust bolts like they were new and loose
User avatar #105 to #104 - hahdumbbirch (09/07/2015) [-]
must be either high speed or some other really tough metal. because to be tougher than vanadium steel is one hell of a sight to behold.

probably titanium or carbide or both iunno i just know its tougher
User avatar #108 to #106 - hahdumbbirch (09/07/2015) [-]
i believe carbide is stronger, because it's used to machine high speed steel for a pen, but is incredibly brittle. i ran into an air pocket while milling some steel, it chattered and shattered into millions of pieces. it sure was a hell of an experience, just seeing your bit that's harder than titanium just shatter like glass.
User avatar #110 to #108 - sonicsyndicate (09/07/2015) [-]
thats like a katana the edge is sharp as **** because the steel is harder than most swords but to avoid it shattering the make it softer in certain places
#114 to #110 - hahdumbbirch (09/07/2015) [-]
yea, but i use inserts cheaper and easier to get if you kno where to get em their releitively safe, and cheaper than those solid bits.
User avatar #116 to #114 - sonicsyndicate (09/07/2015) [-]
ive only used a lathe like twice and both times i just used it to weld steelies to make em wider just slap the center hub hole on a 3 jaw chuck and go at it using your hand to spin it
User avatar #117 to #116 - hahdumbbirch (09/07/2015) [-]
yeah, funny thing is, my lathe was originally designed to be a wood lathe, but i welded another wheel on it, so it can rotate at 300-900 rpm on that wheel, otherwise i can get it onto 1600-2000 on the factory settings. it's a flat iron top delta lathe. it's ridiculously sturdy.
User avatar #118 to #117 - sonicsyndicate (09/07/2015) [-]
give me a lathe for a few weeks and ill guarentee itll be mobile by the time to take it back **** you could ride your lathe home
User avatar #119 to #118 - hahdumbbirch (09/07/2015) [-]
hah, yeah, i put casters on almost everything i own, because i like things to eb able to move around, but stay still when i need them, so what's why i have a grid of concrete anchors 1 foot apart, when i need something to stay still, i bolt it to the foundation. it's rather handy, actually.
User avatar #120 to #119 - sonicsyndicate (09/07/2015) [-]
no im talking putting a damn atv engine on one side and setting it up with suspension and a wideass wheelbase haha
User avatar #121 to #120 - hahdumbbirch (09/07/2015) [-]
oh. i guess we had 2 different ideas. well, the largest engine i have on hand would be an old 1800 some odd GMC motor. but i could likely weld up a frame for it. but why would you need a lathe car? like, for machining on the road? if in that case, why not just stick it into the back of a van, and shorten the leg height
User avatar #122 to #121 - sonicsyndicate (09/07/2015) [-]
it wouldnt be cool enough in the back of a van
and yaknow i couldnt drop metal shavings under the tires of the dickhead behind me
