The black priests in america who have megachurches, sell bottled "blessed water" and various DVDs of them blessing someone. Also having these "healing meetings" where they "cure cancer" and shit on stage, then asking people to donate money.

You know, the obvious scammers.

Shit nigger, they're far from all black.

It isn't talking about founders of a religion as much as managers of religions that are already well established.

Honestly, I think having a life-shortening disability is a bit freeing. Speaking from experience here- just a head's up. Type 1 diabetic with a cocktail of other complications as a result. You realize how precious time is, and you waste less time worrying about little stuff and more time enjoying what you have. In my case, working myself exceptionally hard to leave a huge chunk of change for my family when I die has made me determined to be the absolute best while I still can.

Yes she is! Well, sort of- she was an April Fool's joke by 4LS as a sort of DLC character.
Her name is Saki Enomoto, if you cared to know.

If their skin color is white, then fucking yes.

If you're talking caucasian, it's another deal, but jews are essentially white, yes.

The very first clause of the amendment is that "Congress shall make no law respecting in reference or regards to an establishment of religion", and with the way laws like this have to be interpreted, it has been taken, by using letters written by Jefferson calling for " a wall of separation", that this shall extend to the state government, and that it be interpreted as above.
So your statement that "Politicians are free to make laws in accordance with their religious beliefs" is completely baseless.
And comparing murder to marriage rights is ludicrous. One of those specifically interferes with the well being of another person. And well, it doesn't take a Christian to tell you that murder is wrong. According to many parts of the bible, stoning is allowed. So why then, could this be considered assault with a deadly weapon under the law?

The supreme court has defined by judicial review that first amendment works both ways. The government does indeed have no right to force religious ideologies on the people. This means that no decision can have an explicit religious influence. the people repenting us have a right to believe that religion, but to not have the right to make laws influenced by those religions. Otherwise they would be forcing their religion on us indirectly.

In fact, this is why many amendments are also enforced by state governments, because judicial branch actually received them as such. Then again, whats the point of a federal freedom of speech law, if your state can put you in life in prison for "propaganda" legally.

Pleasure to make your first profile comment sir. You know you're probably the only person I've met on FJ who can talk about Catholicism to other people without getting them all worked up.

The honor is mine, friend. I know, right? I'm surprised myself. Quite sure it won't last.

You know, it's funny; I feel like this site is one of the few entertainment-based places on the internet where people actually listen occasionally. Do you ever get that feeling?
