Just for the record, what's wrong with going to Espoo?

there isn't really anything, it's just a huge cheapish (with occasional hubs of regular families equipped with mom, dad , 2 children, SUV and a dog) suburb with a sparse collection of grills and such, and the general atmosphere is compatible to that.

there just isn't anything.. at least when i lived there, when i was a kid
but i suppose espoo has developed a bit in the past decade.. they managed to build a mall and a subway.. not sure if it's ready yet though. (go there if you have a family and you have already accomplished everything in your life..hopes and dreams go there to die, also your job will be somewhere in helsinki.. but if you like 5 o'clock traffic jams go ahead)

but if you're moving to finland, you should consider some of the bigger cities.

like helsinki or tampere.. or god forbid...turku.
it all depends what do you want from finland, if you want to experience the "real" finland keep your distance from the capital city area, if you want your basic european city go to helsinki

hope that made any sense

What I wanted to move to Finland doesn't exist anymore, which is Group B rally racing. So now I just want to move there anyway because yeah, I want to experience a european city. so Helsinki or Tampere would be a decent choice then?

but honestly, if you're just going to move to Finland in hopes of experiencing an european city, don't.. move somewhere in central europe instead, like prague, vienna, berlin, paris etc

you move to finland if you want to experience finland..
yes, helsinki can be classified as an european city, but it just can't compete with the cities i previously mentioned, there's just no way

in the end Finland is a strange little nordic country with a population which has even stranger mentality

i'd recommend helsinki (for starters at least). it's a bit more open community than the rest of finland
