I like this post. It gave me a feel that feel posts usually don't.

I managed to avoid calling pony posts unfunny because of all the rule posts that I got caught up in. That's basically what happened today.
I'm not always driving the hate-train through ponyville.

We're the same yet different. We have the same values, just have differing ways about getting them. Its harmony vs discord, we both need each other. You keep me in check making sure im not too forgiving, and I make sure that no one is getting hurt by the shitstorm by jumping in front of it. We're on the same side, now lets separate the actual bronies from the mindless herd.

I'm still not going to watch any more episodes.

Constructive arguments making friends, though. That's a pretty nice notion.

LOL i honestly dont care if you watch a single episode for ure entire life, you have the right to hate MLP and im fine with that.
User avatar #41 to #42 - SemiAnon (04/02/2012) [-]
Lol. I had to watch a few before posting hate comments. It's not terrible, but it's not something I'll actively watch.

I'm still not going to watch any "MORE" episodes.
Herp missed that key word. And ya the show isnt for everyone that's for sure.
User avatar #43 to #44 - SemiAnon (04/02/2012) [-]
Lol, it's the reason I take offense when people say all haters just haven't watched the show. Also probably why I'm all criticism of the quality of posts instead of the character of people who watch the show.

I think the whole "You have no opinion because you haven't watched it" thing is stupid and quite Hypocritical, I've made quite a few jokes at the Twilight saga without actually having read or watched it, and I'm sure many bronies have as well.
User avatar #45 to #46 - SemiAnon (04/02/2012) [-]
I've *shudders* watched it.
Double dates, every time. Because apparently my friend doesn't like going to the movies with just his girlfriend, so I have to go with one of her friends.
It's a typical chick-flick, but I feel like a lot of guys were in my position, so it gets a lot of hate.

It's like MLP, it threatens the idea of masculinity to its core so it gets hate. I don't hate it, I poke fun at it, which I even do with MLP, I'm a guy who does enjoy a laugh at myself however
User avatar #47 to #48 - SemiAnon (04/02/2012) [-]
My favorite movie is "The Notebook". I'm not allowed to hate on anything for threatening masculinity. Everyone should be able to laugh at themselves though. I mean, I just admitted that my favorite movie is The Notebook.

I've said this line so many times on FJ it's sad.
"I personally feel that this world could benefit quite a bit by embracing things labeled as masculine or effeminate without fear of being judged as gay or lesbian. It would create a more open society where we can really just do what we enjoy because there's really no harm in a guy like me doing "girly" things really, my view ofc. Feel free to kick me in the balls I apparently don't have"

As someone who grew up in South Boston, it's a miracle I don't say "queer" every other word.
That said, I like your message. There's too much hate around masculine/feminine things. It's wasting the manpower needed to hate things for not telling jokes.

"Saying a guy can't watch MLP because it's too girly is like saying a girl can't watch Indiana Jones because it's too manly"
-Boomdady

Well, Indiana Jones causes an enlargement of the testicles, so I can understand a degree of concern.
