It's not that it cant stand it it's that it pains me to see it getting hit like that. I care for all of my bikes and just throwing your bike to the ground like that is just asking for damage.

As a denizen of North Jersey, I can say that your rage is justified. We, too, all hate this fat-ass.

That's likely to happen if there's friction and nothing holding the output shafts. But I think this is more a concept thing, than a finished design

It's the fact that that the angles are transferring a rotary motion through 90 degrees angle change. In order for it to be continuous it has to spin a full circle with the plate and thus raise and lower like you see. It would look the same if it was 6 or 8 or however more angles doing the same thing, but they would be placed in a circular pattern instead of a triangular one, like in this case.
It's more of a fancy way to show how to transfer torque to three different axes which are also spinning about the main axis, using planetary gear system and those bullshit angles. I mean it supports itself theoretically, but probably wouldn't work in real life because of friction, and I don't even want to think about the noise. It would have to be swimming in lube. Can't even think of a use for this, except for maybe some sort of drill bit, but it looks too fragile anyway.

But the shafts just go into the gears. thats the only part making contact. the whole thing would spin with the gear, not rotating the triangles.

Triangle on the top turning is causing them to raise and lower.
