No, human flying machines had not been invented, the concept of flight is not hard to grasp. Plus flying machines have been being designed long ago. I'm a big fan of these:

Ok now you're being silly. You can't just make up any old thing as a hypothesis. "I hypothesise that there are flying invisible goats that cannot be touched or sensed in any conventional sense, but they're there I swear, we just have to figure out a way to detect them" Science doesn't try and find evidence for an already decided "fact", it makes conclusions based on data.

Flight is not a hypothesis. Therefore there is no such thing as proof of it.

By very nature, an ethereal entity is undetectable.
I am interested, however, to know what you think the purpose of this entity would be?
#11 - greenlaredot (10/15/2015) [-]
Flight was a hypothesis at one time. -_- literally a 150 years ago there was no flight. There had to be numerous calculations made to make it work, several of them failed and had to be redone. You would know this if you actually paid attention in science, its basic physics.

And ethereal entities are not undetectable, we cannot detect now of course but they exist on their own plane of existence that emits its own energy. Its the basic practice behind ghost hunting

Well by nature it's unprovable, so there's little that science can do.

You realize that most things were said to be unprovable at one time, but was later proved, like flight for example. I'm not saying he exists, I dont know if he does or not, but its the unknown about it that I find fascinating, so I'm not going to say if he exists or not until I have solid proof. There's where science comes into it, as there are dozens of fields of it to explore to find an answer or even better more questions

If there were a god, they were not the author of the bible.
#4 - greenlaredot (10/15/2015) [-]
I didnt say he was the author, I'm just saying we have no proof of what he is other than a translation of a ancient text, written by someone several millennium ago.

As a traditional RPG player, I can confidently say that your reflexes are a fuckload better than mine.

I quit Gears of War until I got mouselook because it was too hard, refuse to play first person shooters on consoles, and I had to set the difficulty down lower to get through the last segment of Spec Ops: The Line. You know the part where you're trying to get to the bunker right before what's-his-name goes down fighting? Yeah, ridiculous.

In short, I'm a huge pussy. Good thing I shoot people in the face in real life or I'd never be able to live it down.

Well thanks. I wouldnt say I'm that good, I just play RPG's on their hardest difficulty so I get a realistic challenge. Trying to avoid death in Dark Souls constantly also sharpens your skills pretty fast so I'd recommend it

I always had to hop on a torch and heal during certain fights when playing as any other race than Redguard. Especially fights like the 3 prisoners battle, that's fucking ridiculous, even on normal difficulty. I don't know anybody that can tear down the tourney straight outta the sewers with the difficulty cranked.
#67 - greenlaredot (06/11/2014) [-]
The 3 v 1 battle was intense, I didnt heal once because I kept moving and dodging their attacks, NPC's in Oblivion were easy as hell to predict
