Imagine five families living on an island, one of the families has black hair, over the years the children from each family will grow up, get married and have kids of their own, it wouldn't take very long for everyone to be related, so a few generations later each and every person living on the island will be able to trace their linage back to the black haired family. It's true not every Norseman was a Viking, however through hundreds of years and dozens of generations it's safe to say that most if not every decent of Norsemen can trace their lineage back to at least one true blue Viking. Also the work Viking literally means farmer, the raiders from Norse villages were like you said average joes for the most part in their down time, farmers for the most part as they didn't have money and would have just traded goods. So in conclusion yes, it's safe to assume if you've got Norse ancestry you're likely descended of at least one legitimate viking.

numbers don't ALWAYS matter, the only reason they were willing to give it back was because of the massive amount of experience a viking has compared to an ordinary soldier. IF they amassed themselves rather than being in separate raiding groups, they could totally pull off some world domination.

I dont want to kill. Every life counts so why the hell would i want to do that? the only reason i could see immortality being a good thing is if a completely good, pure person decided to unite every nation and bring a era of peace and prosperity to the world. but since no such person exists, immortality would suck ass.
