Now I see your point more clear. You were just talking about kid games.
Yeah that shit was hard.
I'm 16 myself. I love a challenge. I am probably the most informed kid there is in my area. It's sad. If more people were informed about what is going on in the world; they would just be as outraged as me.
I blame schools. It's not their fault compleatly. After the 1920's the government wanted schools to teach kids how to learn, and not how to think. That's why there are so few "smart" people. I have seen your point, and I agree.

im use assassin's creed again as an example because it's too hot to think. the thing about games is that being a filthy easymode casual is a lot of fun sometimes, i beat assassins creed 3 100% on my first play though resetting whenever i messed up and missed one of the electives, i came out of it feeling accomplished and shit even thought it was not that hard. recently i played it again from a new file saying fuck that shit to every objective that did not suit me personally and i have to say i had a lot more fun

do you remember oldschool legend of zelda?
shit was way harder and way more grim than what they're putting out today.
They need ying and yang but they're too afraid to get yang so they're just sticking with ying.

i think it's because they want games to feel smooth and easy to control and also they want to tell more story in a game while cutting down on overall length, lets face it would you care anymore about a assassin's creed story if it made you repeat a mission a bjillion times?

User avatar #144 - gravitystereo (07/14/2013) [-]
maybe not a million times but punishment is definitely something games need
Let's take Dead Space for example
The first one was fucking great, and turning it on Hard mode made it even better.
The third one literally handed you everything but that's only a scratch in the list of things that made that game a giant steaming pile of shit.

Majora's Mask is one of the best examples there is. There's nothing like seeing that tree at the end, or getting the Fierce Deity mask because that game was fucking hard as shit and very well written. A lot of people don't know about the glory of that game because it's too hard. I literally hear people all the time say they give up because they couldn't even get out of clock town.

It probably has a lot to do with your metabolism. Im really doubting its genetics though... because im a skinny girl. I weigh 130, and am 5' 6". My mother however, was always fairly thick, even in her teens. She was never on the skinny side, and now gains/loses weight very easily and is heavy, though that might come into effect because of 3 children. She has to watch what she eats, and is quite a bit more active than me. Whereas, its very difficult for me to gain OR lose it, and that is because i have a high metabolism, even though i do relatively nothing and eat constantly. My father is also not skinny AT ALL. He isnt active, and hasn't really ever been. He has a beer gut.
There are varying factors; but i feel like saying that it is genetics is just an excuse.
#21 - anonymous (07/02/2013) [-]
You realize that your genetics causes your baseline metabolism right? You can change it given enough effort, but saying that metabolism is unrelated to genetics is kinda dumb. If genetics don't determine metabolism, what does? It obviously isn't environmental factors, given your evidence, so what causes it if not genetics?
User avatar #88 - WtfStrawberries (07/02/2013) [-]
Im not saying genetics dont determine metabolism, but genetics dont cause the metabolism to be 100% the same through the lineage of a family. There are differences, and many factors that come with each generation. You can change it if you try.
#16 - ofalo (07/02/2013) [-]
an excuse for what? not knowing the difference between metabolism and genetics?
User avatar #25 - KayThanxBye (07/02/2013) [-]
your metabolisim is determined by your genetics... so is your height, brain capacity and eyecolour.

User avatar #87 - WtfStrawberries (07/02/2013) [-]
Because that completely explains how my parents have a completely different metabolism than me, even when they were my age.

An excuse for being unhealthy.
