Well, it really depends, I guess. (It's difficult to explain without giving out spoilers) I watched the Original first. I think you should watch the Original FMA first, simply because I think the ending of Brotherhood (This could be considered slightly spoilerish, I guess) ended with a bit more of an end, that wasn't completely depressing at the same time. The original left a bit more that I wanted, I think. So, by what little logic I have, I think Brotherhood's a better way to end the world of FMA.

primary theme is the importance of family, you'll see it a lot in the anime

Hell the title takes its root from "Clan"(nad)

Clannad

two seasons, each 24 episodes long.

Centers around a delinquent with no mother and drunk father who goes to school one day and happens upon a girl who had to repeat her senior year because of an illness which made her miss 9 months of school the previous years

Fantastic character development, amazing feels (I sprung leaks twice during the first season and I've heard the second season hits even harder), and a pace that will keep you consistently entertained with no feeling of "filler" episodes at all.

Literally watched the entire first season in two days before I realized what was going on xD

so you'd like 24 episode animes as opposed to 12 episode animes or 300 episode animes?

How about a light Harem where the obvious romantic choice is there but you get some cute scenes with others every now and then?

I know the perfect anime for feels, but it's more slice of life than action...

That sounds like that'd be fine =D
I haven't seen much of any slice of life anime, so I'm curious. I know what it is, just haven't started one.

what do you want from an anime?

Long/short?
Slice of life/action/gorey/whatever genre you think of 'cause I'm too lazy to think of more?
Recently made/older?
Male/Female protagonist?
Harem?
Visual Novel based?

Just throwing questions out there to get an idea of your taste, feel free to tell me what you like and dislike free of the questioning restrictions xD

#442795 - gowfan (01/07/2013) [-]
I guess I'd prefer an anime slightly on the shorter side, but it's not the biggest of deals.
Again, I think I'd prefer a recently made anime to an older one, but not a big deal.
I think I'd prefer a non-harem based anime more, but I still liked Sekirie, and that was completely harem based.
I guess I'd prefer a male protagonist, but doesn't matter.
Action and comedy are quite nice. I also like feels, like the ones FMA gave near the end. (almost brought to tears, without realizing it.) And I also loved how it kinda made me think a little (about life in general)
Thanks for any help =D

Finish Death Note. Then Code Geass. Those are mandatory.
From then on you could try: Oda Nobuna, Bakemonogatari, The Melancholy Of Haruhi Suzumiya, Kore wa Zombie desu Ka? and Clannad.
