I would guess it's represented by a sheep because of a certain common stereotype, along with the fact there's more sheep than people (reason for the stereotype).

Sure some can be funny, but a lot that I've seen just don't make me laugh. And many are more sweet than funny, which is fine with me. But overall I just don't think they're that amazing.
