I am not talking about physical attributes here. You don´t understand my point. But that´s ok.

Have a nice day!

Who is talking of hate? I am just saying that not everyone is striving for excellence and is happy with not being perfect.

It takes the determination and willpower of for example a gold medal winner to achieve that.

I´m not putting the "normals" down, on the contrary, I am one. But I am man enough to see the difference between me and a professional athlete.

Sure I work hard. But am I putting in over 100 hours a wekk to get my performance from 95% to 99%? Nope, I don´t. And THAT is the difference between true excellence and, well me hehe.

See what I mean?

I think most people aren't deluded enough to consider themselves professional athletes.

But I say people are striving, but not for physical excellence. In a first-world society, financial and intellectual excellence is more important, so people give that more attention.

You strive to do a good job, get a raise/promotion, and have enough saved up for Junior's birthday party. You strive to be well read, to be well-informed the next time you go to the voting booth.

You don't need to be physically fit to survive in today's time. Yes, it is beneficial. But it also takes time, and time is essential when you're trying to keep the shoes on your feet and the roof over your head.

Working everyday, reading NPR everyday, that takes determination. Striving for a promotion, that's ambition.

People haven't lost these things, they just directed it towards what's more important

I se what you mean. Achieving what you mention is by no means an easy thing to do.

But I think you know what I meant with that.

There is still a difference between living an "average" life and winning an olympic gold medal for example.

You're standards are a LITTLE high lol.

But this society is based on who can get and hold a good job.
If this was an athlete's society, then getting said medal will be the aspiration (or even the norm, who knows).
