Browsing a website and gaming aren't exactly the same thing, if we were talking JUST games on steam and such, yea it'd be just as easy. but were not talking about steam, were talking stand-alone games like minecraft, which can be a pain in the ass to make your own private server if you don't know anything about a computer, I know that because it took me half a fucking hour + a youtube video tutorial to figure it out. And then comes mods and texture packs, texture packs are pretty easy, but I've never figured out how to install a mod on minecraft despite the fact that I've been playing minecraft for well over a year now.

If that were true I'd be a PC gamer.

You're using a PC right now, you clearly can do it.

I said "for instance", meaning it was just one example, there's a hell of a lot of things on computers that would require you to be knowledgeable about before you can really do anything.
And no, I'm not saying it's difficult to double click, if you pulled your head out your ass then you'd see that I was pointing out the fact that not everyone knows what a jar file is, not how how to operate a fucking mouse. Idiot.
#262 - gjsmothefirst (02/16/2013) [-]
and if you'd pull YOUR head out of your ass, you'd find that anyone who even has the faintest idea how to play minecraft, or wants to set up a server, would know what that is.

Using a PC requires no more knowledge than using an Xbox if you're performing the same tasks. Sure, some are different, but somehow I don't really thing that it's too difficult to make the connection between pointing a joystick and pointing a mouse - or at least, I don't know a single person who can do one but not the other. Sure, you can do more on a PC, and that requires more knowledge, but you can do the same things as any console with the same ease.

You say that like everyone knows exactly what that is and how to do it, and that's exactly what I'm talking about. There are a lot of people that don't know how to work a computer, and don't care enough to take the time to learn how because they're content with consoles.
#192 - gjsmothefirst (02/16/2013) [-]
So what you're saying is that it's difficult to double-click a file, the same way you open any program on a computer?

Yeah, you should fucking know how to do that. If you can't - then how did you get here?

If you know what's tremolo picking, which is picking the same note quickly, you can't do that on a keyboard and that technique is very important in a guitar solo.
#120 - gjsmothefirst (02/15/2013) [-]
Nope, it's actually pretty easy to play faster on a piano than on a guitar. You use multiple fingers all on the same note, it works.

I play both, I can tell you this from experience - anything that can be played on a guitar can be played easier on a piano/keyboard.
