graphomaniac (10/05/2015) [-] Huh, alright. Good enough, knowing Doctor Who I actually expected less. I never fully watched the show but I've seen multiple episodes, and I've always been like ehh. For every one episode I like, there's like five that just makes me shake my head. But, if it just feeds off these already existing emotions, why not just let it be? Does it also drain people of their vigor or some other malevolence? Basically an alien race, which "Whiskers" is a part of, constantly sings to the planet to keep it asleep so it doesn't wake up and feed on their emotions. By feeding on their emotions it is practically eating their souls and has all the detrimental effects of doing so. Meaning if it wakes up, they all die. So it doesn't feed unless it's awake. Of course, this being Doctor Who, it wakes up and the Doctor offers his 1300 years of memories so it won't go after the aliens on the nearby planet. | ||

gilgameshxplains (10/05/2015) [-] I guess this scene does make almost no sense outside of context. 1. It's a living being that's the size of a planet. 2. Sci-fi space magic. 3. It consume energy created by sentimental value, so it feeds on the things people feel like love hate and fear. 4. It's the aliens' culture to sing to the alien to keep it asleep so it doesn't consume/destroy them. 5. It doesn't actually erase memories but feeds off the energy created by them. #44 -
