A wii u is good. Nintendo desperation on getting more people will make them force good games. So a wii u is a safe bet for good games. I don't find it worth it because i think you could sell somewhere else for a better result.

My current plan is to go and see what everything is worth, and decide there. IDK what my bottom line is yet, but IDK. Its downsizing and upgrading, but eh, do I need another system?

Why should it? The knowledge that the character exists doesn't negate any other feelings towards them, such as affection or admiration. Besides, that's what sexual fantasy is. Things that aren't real. Fantasizing about sex with Scarlett Johansson would just about as unrealistic as fantasizing about sex with Elizabeth.

parody is protected speech under most interpretations of copyright law. Whether it's rude or not has zero bearing on anything. Making porn of things is a necessary and inescapable part of the internet.

If it's considered rude now, that will change. Things always adapt. The simple fact is, there is no such thing as bad publicity. there are quite a few games, movies, tv shows, etc, that i had zero interest in (or had never even heard of) until exposure to hentai of its characters.

idk, knowing some of the artist's I've talked to, some make porn versions of their own creations, I think that I might find it to be a sort of compliment, the idea that someone went out of their way to draw in your art style a character you help craft, I mean they say imitation is the best form of flattery

Comments like yours are what happens when people start attributing too much significance to Pr0N.

It's just porn, man. Let your imagination run to your happy porny place, frolic around there, and then come back down to reality, where your sturdier values and inhibitions are.

...a time and place for everything.

i have killed so many great entertainment experiences and childhood memories with r34. the moment the semen is done leaving my penis, i'm overwhelmed with guilt, thinking "what kind of fucked up wretch of a person does the kind of thing that i just did?" there are so many games that i cannot ever play because i will get to a point to see a character and think "hey, i fapped to them" and then drop the controller and stop and think about what the fuck i'm doing with my life. because of this post, starting today, no more r34 for me, no porn of anyone that was not meant to be in porn. thank you ghostofgemini, for making me reflect on the things i do. inb4 whoaterecharlesdickensididntaskforafuckingnovel.jpg

I just see it as sexual fan art. Although, I can see where it would bother some people. I, for example, wouldn't want too see any porn of Urshug. That's probably because she's around ten years old, though.

Reproduction is the most powerful instinct experienced by an organism because it can override all others, including self preservation. People are generally horny by nature, and therefore will find an excuse to sexualize just about anything they find attractive, including fictional characters. As stated in another comment, in a way sexualization of an object is showing appreciation for said object, since it is speaking to the most central and basic of human instincts.
Just from general observation I can say that the popularity of a particular movie/show/game has a fairly noticeable correlation to the amount of R34 of said media that can be found

Perhaps, but I feel as though the knowledge that said character doesn't actually exist would uh, 'negate' the feeling?

And yes, there is a clear liner relationship between popularity and r34 quantity.

the whole reason behind r34 (if it exists, there's porn of it) is that as long as it exists, there are people attracted to it

I see your point, however I don't think it's a bad thing. People show their appreciation for things in so many different ways. And you certainly wouldn't look at someone who drew porn of Princess Peach and think, "wow, they must really hate the Mario games." If someone took the time and effort to make something, whatever it may be, after a series they like, I see it as a sign of respect. Even if I may not personally like the subject matter (pony porn), who am I to judge how a person enjoys and celebrates something?

My thoughts are that it's going to happen. How many times have you seen a show get ruined? I know people from my old HS art class that draw porn. Why? because they like it and because people like it (pic related)

Think about, maybe, Dexter's Lab. Show was a good show, some values, some comedy, some heart warming moments, some whatever. It was a good show and people liked it. However, some people started the whole 'I wanna bang Deedee' train going. It passed around and it was realized that a lot of people really want Deedee in their lab. Like, really badly.

Cue the porn artists. An artist is always looking for recognition -someone to tell them their art is good, point out the flaws and emphasize the successes- they want to know that they're good at it. Porn artists do this with nude bodies. Sometimes clothes, sometimes not. Sometimes crazy shit, sometimes not. Art is hard when you don't have a clear idea sometimes, and drawing porn of a character is about as clear as it gets. They're already there, fully formed and in their own little universe.

And everyone wants to fuck the model in question. People go crazy for it because some people get wrapped up in the show. Basement dwellers, social shut-ins, people out there, the social butterflies. They all want to fix the urges, to watch something to get dickbutt or pussyelbow out of their minds. The porn helps that, especially when it's all about whatever in hell they were just obsessing over.

Is it right? Depends on perspective. Porn will happen, just like how no matter where you are in the world, bad weather comes in. Do you ask the weather to stop? No, you just prepare for it. You don't stop the rain. You stop the rain from falling on your position and then use that to walk somewhere else. No matter how many times he asks, porn will be drawn. People fap to it all around the world because they like it and they get to watch things get fucked. Takes care of an urge.

I agree that your view has validity, but at the same time I would like to raise the counter argument that, to some, having there character drawn as a pornographic icon is a sign of wide spread recognition and respect for the the character. Because if someone creates porn of it that person is likely an admirer of what you have created, and the more widespread the pieces are, the more that character is loved. Perhaps its not the best barometer, but it could be viewed as one none the less.

Also the whole hentai v. "non hentai" argument kind of falls flat since a good portion of hentai also uses existing characters, and a good amount of non-hentai drawn porn also uses original characters.

Anyway, just my two cents

I would think that it's the opposite: If I've spent a lot of time making a cahracter for a series, making them memorable, and character design people put effort into making them look good, then the fact that somebody spent the time to make a porn parody of it means that it is popular and good-looking enough to merit a porn. I would be flattered
#251 - anon (06/12/2014) [-]
But I think the point is not everyone appreciates their art becoming porn. Probably an irrelevant example, if you ever watch GMM you would realize they have something where people mail stuff to them and they put it on a ball with glue on the "Good Mythical ball" of mail. However, if someone asks kindly to not do so, they respect their wishes and keep it as something that is to be remembered.

On the other hand, people on the Internet are pretty much assholes and do as they please, thinking they are entitled to everything that exists on it. What can we do? Nothing. Shouldn't people on the internet be more respectable? Yes. Will they? Nope.
#63 - anon (06/09/2014) [-]
Even if I agree with that, I think it's like seeing your daughter making porn.
