You have a Mascot, right? Like Mario, Deadmau5, Deadpool, The Joker, Link, Samus, etc. Those are Mascots.

Mascots are well known characters who people use to express their own personality and preferences. This can be shown via in game names, pictures, and even Facebook Icons.

My mascot, put simply, are ponies. When I change my mascot, its a different pony. Simple as that. Ponies show off my own personality and preferences, all depends on which pony it is.

Anyways, there's that reason people like them as well.

I think there is an actual sociologic reason behind this, if thats a word.

Now, here: A loong long time ago, people like me ran into the show. These people, before even my time, said "I like it!" This, of course, is deemed weird. Right? Weird. SO they were shot down.

Now, somewhere there came in existence a group of people who really liked the show. Like I've said, for their own reasons. I like the characters and think they're super cute, and oddly enough sometimes quite badass.

When I came into the picture, FJ hated ponies and constantly shot down any post made with them, even if it was logical. This, of course, just pissed a whole bunch of people off, who wanted their right to like ponies.

Now, some of the people genuinely loved ponies, while others hopped the bandwagon so they could "Fight The Power"

The flame war came here via 4chan of course.

Now the point here is, the hate people pressed upon those who liked MLP made them stronger.

I like the cute animations and character designs myself. The plots are getting better.

And moreso, someone like you might like some things the fangroup has come up with. I mean shoot, you've got it all in the fanbase.
