jujuface (09/26/2015) [-] If I started throwing punches at every idiot who came up to me and talked shit, I'd be spending a lot of time in jail. It's pretty blatantly obvious from the language used that the person who wrote that post was heavily biased towards the kid who got sucker punched. And it's by their admission that the one who started the physical fight was not the "blind" kid. All I see in the beginning of the video is the blind kid with his hands up, taking multiple blows and dealing none. Even after the guy punching him gets taken down, his hands are still up and his face is tensed up, expecting another blow. He really could not see. And then this cunt noah goes on twitter trying to guilt trip people like "I hope you're happy, I got 8 stitches" I'm not happy, but I don't give a fuck either. You started a fight, and got beat up. That's always a possibility, and a pretty fair one when you START A FIGHT

ainise (09/24/2015) [-] Some asshole was like HEY THESE FUCKING PASTRY WON'T COOK EVENLY, then some dickhead was like HEY CUT A HOLE IN THE MIDDLE. And he did, they cooked nicely and had no doughy center, like many pastries/fried cakes did. Here's a quote of the story: "Now in them days we used to cut the doughnuts into diamond shapes, and also into long strips, bent in half, and then twisted. I don’t think we called them doughnuts then—they was just ‘fried cakes’ and ‘twisters.’ Well, sir, they used to fry all right around the edges, but when you had the edges done the insides was all raw dough. And the twisters used to sop up all the grease just where they bent, and they were tough on the digestion. Well, I says to myself, ‘Why wouldn’t a space inside solve the difficulty?’ I thought at first I’d take one of the strips and roll it around, then I got an inspiration, a great inspiration. I took the cover off the ship’s tin pepper box, and—I cut into the middle of that doughnut the first hole ever seen by mortal eyes! …Well, sir, them doughnuts was the finest I ever tasted. No more indigestion—no more greasy sinkers—but just well-done, fried-through doughnuts.”" My favourite is a boston creme. The feeling you get while eating it is different because it has a different form.

| So the police can carry several of them at once on their baton what culture is behind donuts? I mean I'm sure there is a long and extensive history behind donuts but its not like its common knowledge. If we don't even know why we're doing it then why should we do it? And this applies to tradition. Donuts aren't respectable. Donuts are just junk food, and at this point people don't care about the tradition in making donuts. Honestly, do you think that the majority of people who eat donuts care about the tradition? Also, what design behind donuts? If the hole was important, probably for being able to grab it which was probably what it was originally used for, then why did we make the hole obsolete? And it's not like some glazed bread looks better with or without a hole in it. The only reason why I can see people still make donuts is because that's what people are used to. It's not a respectable culture, although a culture nevertheless. Ah, whatever. Donuts are donuts, I really shouldn't be ranting about this. tl : dr Donuts are kinda pointless but people are used to them #32 -

anon (09/24/2015) [-] Idk bout you mofuggas, but here, donuts are without holes. They're full fucking donuts. #36 -
anon (09/24/2015) [-] Don't know where you live but most donuts here have no hole and i hate it Why do you have holes? Wouldn't it be better to have no vulnerable orifices? #24 -
anon (09/24/2015) [-] because if there wasnt a hole in the middle, the hole punching machine on the doughnut makers would be useless #41 -
tacoperson (09/24/2015) [-] on a donut typically the topping is why you're eating it. THe glaze, chocolate, or maple, along with the sprinkles if there are any. A pastry with a higher surface area has a higher ratio of topping to dough. #34 -
anon (09/24/2015) [-] certain types of cheese have holes in them because during production gas bubbles form, this cannot be avoided. beer and champagne foam because during production carbon dioxide is produced, this cannot be avoided. also, if you have trouble puring a beer with a nice foam crown you are a faggot and should go caytlon jenner immediately. pretzels especially full sized ones and not those snack thingies you present there, cannot be mushed together, this type of dough gets dry very easily. the trick is to have them crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. go fuck yourself, faggot. #31 -
anon (09/24/2015) [-] why does cheese have holes? there would be a lot more cheese if there would be no holes in every type of cheese why does beer/champagne foam? it would be much easier to fill glass without half of it vanishing after pouring it in why do they shape gingerbread men / pretzels in those funny shapes? it would be much efficient to squish them together so they'd take less space in packaging #29 -
ainise (09/24/2015) [-] Cheese has holes because of a bacteria releasing carbon dioxide when ti consumse the lactic acid and forms bubbles. The bubbles form Air pockets which is what you're seeing as holes. This is how those cheeses are made, so the air pockets have to exist. Alcoholic beverages have foam because, like cheese, bacteria releasing gasses. Generally it's carbon dioxide that is formed during fermentation. When the beer is poured, it makes a "head", commonly called the Beer Head, the air inside is released from it moving around, coming to the top due to buoyancy. Pretzel's are shaped like that because that's how they're shaped. Nothing special here. It's like asking why animal crackers are shaped like animals. You're an idiot. Doughnuts actually have a reason to have holes. It's so that they cook more evenly. There are dozens of variations on the original story, but essentially most people agree doughnuts are just easier to cook with the hole in the center. It's so you can break parts off and dip it in your coffee or milk. not anything new, we already have bread. why can't we make glazed buns or something So the police can carry several of them at once on their baton what culture is behind donuts? I mean I'm sure there is a long and extensive history behind donuts but its not like its common knowledge. If we don't even know why we're doing it then why should we do it?
