I stated that if you think your need and desire to have children is so important that even though you can't afford them, you're going to have them anyways - then you are a selfish parent who cares about themselves more than their child.
This isn't "poor people shouldn't have any kids ever" this is "your logic is selfish and you care more about yourself than you do your kids"

Also, the population doesn't need people having more kids to stay at a stable level, it's at an unstable level because it's too high, so that's a flawed thought too.

They need a stable upbringing
which includes social interaction
adequate schooling
healthy diet

all of these things are impeded by being severely poor, there's tons of proof all around you that poor children get bullied, have less access to good education (grow up in poor areas with underfunded schools) and tend to suffer from bad diets and obesity rates.

If you have to say "yes they will struggle but i can't imagine a life without having children" it instantly shows that you actually care more about YOU having a child to love, than you care about the welfare of your child.

kids are too expensive for a society and not suited for poor people?

to keep the population on a stable level, every human has to get at least 2 children that are willing (and able) to get children themselves. there arent enough rich people with the time to rise these many children as good as they could with only one or two children. only "solution" is get massive wave of migrants of usually poor people -> same problem. it is not that after only rich people have kids the poverty with its problems disappears within a society.

Distopia: People start thinking what you think. Poor people no longer get children. All "poor people" die out, others getting the lowpaid jobs too. losing a job is losing your own kids, your future. only the most powerfull and rich people are allowed to get children. it is no longer important if you are healthy or ugly, friendly or loving a person is, only money determines if genes are carried on.
