|#35 - I believe he was actually going to make Harry his 7th horcrux.… [+] (5 new replies)||03/05/2014 on Kevin and Voldemort Discuss...||-4|

He was definitely intending to make his final horcrux by murdering Harry - but because he wasn't able to complete the process, he did not know he had succeeded (using Harry himself as the object for it), and he never intended to use Harry as the horcrux, because he fully intended to get rid of him.
That's why later on, after he came back, he created yet another horcrux as he had intended to do before he fell trying to kill Harry (he didn't realize that could be done at all; "Isn't seven the most powerful magical number"), because he was never aware that Harry just consequently became one himself.
Harry's mother died to protect him and that's what caused the killing curse to fail, but from what I understand, it had nothing to do with the scar - that was from becoming a horcrux at the same time.
Harry died to save his friends later and Voldemort couldn't kill them after that either, but it didn't leave any scars because he had not made the preparations to create a horcrux - or, theoretically, it probably would have. If he even had enough soul left to split into another one, that is.
I suppose that also might be why the curse "backfired" on Voldemort when he first tried to kill Harry, because it didn't do that to him with Harry's friends; the magic just just didn't work properly. After all, the process of making a horcrux were described as very volatile and absolutely disastrous to get wrong.

if that were the case then he wouldn't have attempted to destroy harry- and by association the horcrux inside him- time and again, he would've just left him be. Or better yet he would've made it his mission to convince Harry to join him, it's shown that he can be charismatic when he wants to be.
Hell in the very end when he only has two horcruxes left he actually IS the one to kill Harry.

It wasn't intended to happen. But I think that Voldemort new that he was a horcrux. Hence him being able to see into Harry's thoughts, and manipulate him a bit.
I think that having part of your soul trapped inside of a mortal enemy is a bit of a problem, and seeing as he had numerous other horcruxes, killing Harry just seems like the normal thing to do. If there was a profecy that this kid is gonna kill you eventually, I think the logical thing to do is to stay away from them, rather than keep attacking them and shit. And if it weren't for Harry being a horcrux, he should have just let him be.
Not sure if any of that is the way it was intended. Prolly not, even. But I still think he knew Harry was one, simply due to the mind reading and crap. Wouldn't be able to do that normally, without his soul trapped inside him.
