Well I'm sorry!!! It's not like I planned this to happen!!! I just spoke what was in my heart but you know what, fine, fine. If you wanna play that card, that's your call. God. Guilt tripping me about that shit. How about the time I sat with you while Cynthia passed away huh? Or when I came with you to support you in court? You think you know me? You don't know jack shit. How dare you not let me have my own opinion. HOW DARE YOU!!! We're finished as pals.

Oh, you fucker you.

You know very damn well that the only reason Cynthia passed away was because you RAN OVER HER with your goddamn SUV. And the only reason I was in court was because you sued me because Cynthia's head dented the hood of your SUV as you RAN OVER HER.

Should have seen the signs then, but you just kept crying and moaning and promising me that this would be the last time you ran over one of my girlfriends. And time and again I fell for you and your awesome sideburns. Well, no more man. We're through.

And I'm taking the parrot.

well i thank you for keeping the conversation civil and I'm sorry if you took the term liberal sugar coating to heart. but in my research i was supposed to keep the paper as non biased as possible and even had help from an extremely liberal gun hating friend of mine to get sources to argue both points. i was truly 100% willing to accept my biased as being wrong, but after 3 months of doing research on the topic i swayed even more to the side of guns because of the findings. im not saying every one should be allowed to have guns by any means and i think there needs to be certain gun control measures put in place, but much more so i believe it is a huge mental health problem in the US that is leading to these shootings. but to expand even more i believe it is poverty driven.

with 3D printing it is impossible, i even wrote a research paper on this topic. america is also neighbored with mexico. even if you ban all guns i can drive 6 hours and get one for $300. so no there is no such thing. As for it being enforced in other western countries, how is that really working? not the liberal sugar coated version, i mean how many guns are still out there and are being used all the time? mexico has some of the strictest gun control in the world and look how that's working for them.

It's a good thing you actually did some research into the matter, but it's obvious that just because you wrote said paper and came to that conclusion, this is thus a fact. It is a theory, and others might disagree with you. Although I certainly understand why it would be a lot harder.

As for the matter of enforcement in other countries, its hard to find exact numbers. Since gun possession is illegal in most European countries, most people will not admit to owning one. However, you might want to compare the list of global school shootings (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/School_shooting) with the list of school shootings in the US (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_school_shootings_in_the_United_States). Also, you might find this article interesting:
archinte.jamanetwork.com/article.aspx?articleid=1661390 , although this is just about the U.S. and not about other countries. Or perhaps this one might interest you: www.theguardian.com/news/datablog/2012/jul/22/gun-homicides-ownership-world-list

I'm kind of expecting you to just go and lable all this 'the liberal suger coated version' and then I might start calling your sources the 'redneck gun-humping version' but let's cut it off before it gets to that. You seem like a smart guy and at least you're polite about it, so it might be better just to keep it at this.

in todays technological day and age there is no longer an option of getting rid of guns, but you can allow people to protect themselves from those who wish to do harm. you think if there was a teacher who had access to a gun and was trained how to use it, there would be 20 victims?
#446 - funnydutcha (04/11/2014) [-]
Don't do that. Don't use the 'it's simply not possible to get rid of guns' excuse.

You are Americans. In a few hundred years you build the most powerfull nation of the world. You found Sadam Hoessein in a hole in the ground in Iraq. You found Osama Bin Laden in some fortified complex in Afghanistan. You sent a man to the moon. But you can't inforce one simple law, one that is inforced by the vast majority of other Western countries, if you wanted to?

Speak the truth. You don't want to. You're not willing to try. It's fine by me. Luckily, I don't live in America and don't have to worry about it. The only working guns that I have ever seen were in the holsters of policemen. Like I said, it's fine. It's your country, and as long as everybody is willing to accept a school shooting now and then, it's your business. But don't say you couldn't do it, even if you wanted to. Just say you don't want it.
