Nohelpforu (01/31/2015) [-] Dude, nothing you said comes close to refuting what Fry said. Also, only losers need a god for motivation. Unless that god is Cthullu, that would explain having motivation AND the eyesight eating insects. #908 -
anon (01/31/2015) [-] If someone is using God for motivation, they missed something. But honestly, if it wasn't for God I would be an unmotivated waste of space. I needed God, and if that makes me a loser, I accept your accusations. #105 -
blakeserene (01/31/2015) [-] I think he means that those bad things motivate people. And honestly, he's kind of right. Human beings NEED challenges to overcome. They need something that they can fight for or against. If everything is handed to you, if nothing bad ever happens, the world stagnates. No progress is made, and no one really LIVES. If actions didn't have consequences, if nothing was wrong with the world, what would we realistically do with our time? Yeah things suck sometimes; bad things happen to good people. But at the end of the day those terrible things bring people together more than success. They create a banner under which people as a race can unite to stop. #107 -
Nohelpforu (01/31/2015) [-] You just described life as it exists, and as someone who has never lived in a war-torn hellhole or had parasites eating him alive, we don't need agonizing terror to motivate us, it isn't justification for a god. I'm not even an atheist, but that much is true. #114 -
blakeserene (01/31/2015) [-] Those parasites can give us deeper understanding into the physiology and structure of both humans and the parasite; it gives us a reason to find better medicines, further research for cures, and explore the world as a whole. War may be terrible but it also progresses medicine, and it may well be necessary to stop bad people. Even so called pointless wars having uses; they further technology, both to save, and to increase the abilities of existing machines which can in turn be used for peaceful operations. Take the rockets launched by Germany on civilian centers for example. They wrought mass death, but after the war the same technology but men on the moon, and artificial satellites in space to connect the world. Suffering is tragic, but it has it's uses. #158 -
Nohelpforu (01/31/2015) [-] Individuals can accomplish things without horror. Does it really matter if medical science never advanced if it was never useful when it comes to parasites or whatever. I'm not imagining a world without accidents, like broken bones or accidental poisoning, but if there was a god worth caring about, there wouldnt be disease or parasites or war. These things speed up advancement out of necessity, but people still make discoveries out of pure curiosity or innovation. To put god anywhere near that picture makes him either a ruthless maniac or entirely uncaring about individuals, and with the argument you presented about 'motivation' makes it seem like hes making mankind compete against ... well, i don't know, other thinking species i guess. #1013 -
blakeserene (02/01/2015) [-] Peoples curiosity and innovation stagnate pretty rapidly when they have no needs or wants. If there was no fear that eventually famine and war for resources was going to overcome our planet, people would have no interest in colonizing space. It would be seen as frivolous and wasteful. And there's a long history of such thinking in human history. Until necessity dictates that something must be done soon, humans have a huge tendency to be short sighted. It's why global pollution is so high, over crowding is such a problem, and why many of this generations problems exist. If it doesn't effect people or their loved ones in the current time or near future, they tend to simply ignore it. | ||

Looks nice and the idea of working in a porn industry doesn't sound that bad at least it's not a job where you can crack your back
Then again after all these years of preparation I don't know which to start with
as in drawing with:
-mouse
-pencil
-or touch pad
or forget it all and start in 3d
I don't know so many forms of art and I just can't decide
