I think what it's trying to say is that the mutated/ defective genes that cause cancer could allow us to replicate our damaged cells indefinitely, but instead it just rapidly produces a mass of useless cells that can ultimately end up killing us.

Not really, but that could work too. Have you heard of stamcell research? They essentially give you an injection of unspecialized that can (potentially) specialize into the types of cells around the injection area. This has been proved to be able to cure som cases of paralysis and some kinds of syndromes.

Stem Cell research has proven to be very successful too but the only way to efficiently get the stem cells is to harvest human fetuses and everyone starts raging when people do that.

It's actually not that expensive. And to e honest, I don't see how people rage so much over the dead fetus thing. They only do it when the parents consent to it, which only on a technicality can't be viewed as the same as donating your own organs when you die.

Well... I'm not entirely sure, but brain function has actually been recorded all the way down to 6th month of pregnancy. Does that warrant life, I'm not sure. That's why I let the question of whether to use the cells of the fetus or not up to the parents. That way, no-one can actually complain, even if they don't like it.

Yes. Many people are extremely dense when it comes to matters like this. Many are unable to see past the norm value "all human life is equal" and see that the laws of nature dictates otherwise.
