It would still throw other things out of the sync that we would project them to be.
IE We'd project say Mars to be in one location with the data that we have, but if there was something else that we didn't know about, say your planet, then Mars would be in the wrong place. Gravity doesn't just effect the region around the planet it effects everything. Also the way planets form from accretion it is highly unlikely that another planet would form at the same distance from the sun and it is even more unlikely that a captured planet would enter in behind us perfectly in our blind spot.

Not that i know of but t wouldn't be the only way
We've sent satellites to the outer rim of our solar system and they have taken pictures of our planet during the travel so they might have picked up on something like that, Could be that there is another "earth" orbiting in Tandem with our own but highly unlikely.
Or it could be another of those Hidden secrets thats kept from the general public

im gonna go ahead and say it would be more like a lifeless planet for some reason. but that satellite traveling outwards could pick up on it i suppose.

So there are things called Lagrange points. Basically when there is a 2 large bodies in an orbit, like earth to the sun, that effects the gravitational field. Because of this you only have 5 stable positions in that orbit, but they can only be occupied by small objects (asteroids and such). So there can't be a earth like body in the same orbit as us, only one smaller. For more on this look up Lagrangian Point. Jupiter's Trojans are the most impressive objects in the solar system when it comes to this. Earth just has astronomical dust, nothing interesting.

i have no more doubt. there is nothing over there. you have made the most sense and have provided me the answer i was looking for

We would notice the gravitational effects that it would have, and when I say we I mean Scientists and Astronomers.
Also we have Rovers on Mars that could check when on the far side of the Sun from us.
User avatar #85 - froghole (05/02/2015) [-]
even though the gravitational effect would be on the other side of the sun and something that's always been there?

I'm sure if there was something like that, By now we'd have noticed
